Hi, is it possible to add external collaborators to Github Project?

I want to share my kaban board with external user without inviting them into my org

Hi,

As you see in this image, you navigate to Settings on your project and go to Manage access; here you can add collaborators to your specific project (exactly as you can see in the different roles):

Unfortunately, for now, you'll need to invite external users into your organization if you want them to actively collaborate on GitHub Projects.

Unfortunately it is not working for external collaborators, it's only possible to put internal project members.

Yes, you can add external collaborators to a GitHub project. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Create a Public Repository: If your Kanban board is in a public repository, external users can view and contribute without being invited to your organization.

2. Invite External Collaborators: If you want to keep the repository private:

   • Go to the repository settings.
   • Click on Manage access.
   • Add the external user as a collaborator by entering their GitHub username or email.

3. Use GitHub Projects: For GitHub Projects, you can share project boards with external collaborators if they have access to the repository. If it's a public repository, they can view and interact with the project board directly.

It is possible to add external coloborator to Github Repository, but it is not possible to add external coloborator to Github project board, the private boards allows only to invite teams and members of the organization itself.
