As Singapore celebrates its 61st National Day, I am truly honoured to receive Singapore’s Public Service Star (Distinguished Friends of Singapore). This distinction means a great deal to me because it reflects the strong relationship of trust that has been built up between Singapore and Thales over many years, based on shared ambitions, technological excellence and long-term commitment. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of witnessing this partnership grow stronger through ambitious projects in aerospace, defence, digital technologies and innovation, while continuing to invest in local talent and capabilities. I would like to thank the Singapore government for this honour, as well as our customers, partners and the 2,000 Thales employees in Singapore whose expertise and dedication make this partnership possible every day. Nearly one million aircraft movements annually will be managed by a new generation of air traffic management technology by 2030. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has selected Thales to modernise its air traffic management system and air traffic control radars. Combining Artificial Intelligence, advanced cybersecurity and real-time decision support, the new NexGen system will help air traffic controllers manage one of Asia's busiest flight information regions more efficiently while reducing delays, fuel consumption and carbon emissions. The project also covers knowledge transfer, including through having CAAS officers join the project office in France, alongside localisation projects in Singapore. By integrating the secure Galileo PRS service into the P3TS navigation system, this new solution improves resistance to attempts to jam or tamper with geolocation signals.
