Transforming products for better tomorrows with nano carbon

About us

Canatu (CANATU, Nasdaq First North, Finland) is a fast-growing deep technology company creating advanced carbon nanotubes (Canatu CNTs), related products, and manufacturing equipment for the semiconductor, automotive, and medical diagnostics industries. Canatu partners with forerunner companies, together transforming products for better tomorrows with nano carbon. Canatu’s versatile platform technology has broad potential applications. Its current core includes CNT membranes for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) processes in the semiconductor industry, enabling the manufacturing of the most advanced chips, as well as film heaters for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in the automotive industry. Additionally, electrochemical sensors for medical diagnostics are in the development phase. Canatu’s patented CNT reactors and Dry DepositionTM method yield clean and pristine CNTs. The company operates through two business models: selling CNT products directly, as well as selling CNT reactors and licensing the related technology so that customers can produce CNT products under a limited license. Headquartered in Finland, Canatu also operates in the US, Japan, and Taiwan. Founded in 2004 as a spin-off from Aalto University’s Nanomaterials Group, Canatu currently has over 185 employees representing 35 nationalities, with 15 percent holding or pursuing doctorates. • Inspiring future semiconductor talent at Canatu!   Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of highly motivated and curious students from Aalto University's Semi-Summer 2026 programme to our headquarters and production facilities in Vantaa.   The visit offered a closer look at our carbon nanotube technology through technology workshops, discussions with our experts, and a factory tour showcasing how innovation moves from research to real-world applications. Semi-Summer is a collaborative initiative between Aalto University and leading semiconductor companies, including Applied Materials, Bosch Sensortec, Canatu, Murata, Okmetic and SiTime, helping students gain hands-on experience and explore career opportunities in Finland’s growing semiconductor industry.   A big thank you to Aalto University, the students, and everyone at Canatu who contributed to a successful day. We are excited to support and inspire the next generation of innovators!✨   Learn more about Semi-Summer: https://lnkd.in/dcCC2BE3 #SemiSummer2026 #Nanotechnology #Semiconductor #FutureTalent

  • We are looking forward to ADLM next week! This year, we will showcase our new-generation sensing platform based on carbon nanotubes that is being developed. It will bring lab-grade hormone results to the point-of-care, enabling regular monitoring and better-targeted patient treatments. Welcome to visit us at booth 1304, attend our poster sessions or arrange a meeting with Nedal Safwat or Ville Rajala to discuss how we can advance the future of medical diagnostics together. #ADLM2026 #PointOfCareTesting #HormoneTesting #CarbonNanotubes

  • Last week in London, our CEO, Dr. Maximilian Slawinski, spoke with Nitin Dahad from EE Times | Electronic Engineering Times about Canatu's journey, the expanding role of carbon nanotubes in next-generation technologies, and the opportunities ahead. In this interview, Maximilian reflects on the lessons learned from his career in materials science and technology industrialization, shares the vision behind Canatu, and discusses how we are building the foundation for broader adoption of carbon nanotubes to enable safer, more reliable, and more efficient technologies across semiconductor manufacturing, autonomous intelligent systems, defence, and medical diagnostics. Thank you to Nitin Dahad and the EE Times for the engaging discussion! 🎥 Watch the interview here: https://lnkd.in/enB9zwrp #Canatu #CarbonNanotubes #AdvancedMaterials #Leadership

  • Today, Canatu is announcing changes to its leadership structure, designed to drive efficiency and growth. The updated leadership team will comprise executive management members, business unit leaders, and operational leadership members, all of whom will report directly to CEO, Dr. Maximilian Slawinski. This model reinforces clear ownership and closer alignment between our business units and corporate functions while maintaining the agility needed to execute effectively across our markets. At the same time, we have renamed our Automotive business unit to Robotics, Mobility and Defence. The new name better reflects our current offering and the scope of the business unit’s activities. The changes are effective immediately and do not impact Canatu’s financial reporting. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dPvApwBC

  • Canatu has achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification, strengthening our readiness for medical diagnostics markets. ISO 13485 is the internationally recognized quality management standard for medical device and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) companies. The certification audit was completed with zero nonconformances, reflecting the strength and maturity of Canatu’s quality management system. This achievement strengthens our ability to develop next-generation point-of-care diagnostics technologies and provides an important foundation for future regulatory submissions and commercialization activities in major healthcare markets across the United States and Europe. A big thank you to our Medical Diagnostics and Quality teams, as well as everyone who contributed to this achievement. 🚀
