Somewhat caricatured because I’m too annoyed to represent it charitably:

A: [Something about how “TME” is a bad term]

B: You’re transphobic and don’t understand what it’s like to be a trans woman.

A: I’m a trans woman.

B: You’re a transphobic trans woman and that’s why trans women hate you.

There’s a lot more going on there, like B accusing A of being a Gamergater, but I think that’s the thrust of it.

What frustrates me is that it doesn’t seem like there’s a point where you could get B to evaluate A’s statement as an opinion rather than as a weapon of the enemy. You could find other trans women who agree with A, and you could find trans women who agree more with B but think A is just wrong rather than bigoted. But no matter how many you find, B could just keep saying all of them are transphobic and declare victory.

I love how Miranda effectively wins even in her bad ending.

Wait, is this just edgier Undertale?

This feels like the beginning of a slasher movie, except instead of drunk horny teenagers being assholes so you want them to die, it’s sexist businessmen being assholes so you want them to die.

I think guro has a lot of artistic potential that I can't access because I don't share the fetish. So whenever I see an interesting-looking guro game, I recommend it to others to see if I can get it a little more notice. On that note, take a look at Cyan Brain.

Reading a Pathfinder fic, and it does a good job of establishing how tribalism, religious conflict, and totalitarian governments lead to some races being viewed as “the bad ones” despite none being inherently evil.

Reading the reference materials it links to, and this shit sounds obscenely racist. “This volume offers an indispensable analysis of the most vicious killers of all – orcs. Born and bred for war, they are an awful, brutish, violent species and, despite their constant infighting and backstabbing, their horde armies remain a dire threat to all races.”

The fic I’m about to mention wasn’t good at all, and I won’t name it because the author deleted it. But I admire the author’s idea that the real solution to Shoto Todoroki’s problems is to turn him into a fox-girl.

There’s a type of person who thinks they never need to question what they’ve already decided the truth is. I wrote the Pure as a hypothetical of what would happen if that type fought reality and won, so thoroughly remaking their section of the universe that unwanted concepts like homosexuality can’t exist there. This book presents Terolan as that type, fighting reality and refusing to recognize just how badly he’s losing. The scientific arm of the labor camp seems to be built entirely around finding ways to reassure Terolan he’s winning, because he’ll kill you if you say otherwise.

I read that post that says Hallmark Christmas movies are like that because they make depressed Christian housewives feel better about their life choices. Anyone have an explanation for why the romance subplot in every modern trad-published fantasy novel is like that? Why does every heroine who thinks of herself as strong and independent need a seemingly cruel but secretly kind dom who makes her feel happy to be submissive? Do Christian housewives read fantasy novels? Do their husbands know about this forbidden Satanic literature?
