History: Canon history
Mayfield history: The Signless arrived in Mayfield in early December. It was, as one would expect, very confusing for him to wake up in a strange place without his little hippie family as a different species with an alien asleep next to him. His fake Mayfield family and others were kind enough to explain the situation to him and what a horrible, horrible place he'd been brought to. Fortunately for him, he wasn't the only Alternian troll in the town- his beloved Disciple, his guardian Dolorosa and a group of young trolls that included his own descendent.
All didn't go too terribly for the next new weeks. Signless bonded with his new "family" by helping his not!wife Fate pass out blankets and food when the power in Mayfield stopped all together, he spent time with his Disciple, befriended a few of the young trolls and even he discovered he had a job as a kindergarten teacher alongside a man named Klaus Wulfenbach. Being human and not on Alternia were big adjustments for him of course but he quickly found himself fascinated by human culture and it's differences from his home planet.

Then Christmas happened. Shortly before the 25th, people in the town began having dreams of how much better the world would be without them. They were guided by people they knew and trusted, who told them how their existence had and would cause terrible things but if they made the choice to erase themselves things would be so much better, both in their home world and in Mayfield. Ever the (stupid) martyr, Signless said yes. Over the next few days he and others were treated as if they weren't even there, then as if the people who knew them had never met them and finally as fakes. The town leaders happily told anyone not erased by the event if they killed the "imposters" their real loved one would come back. Signless came close to being murdered by his own lover but managed to talk her down by calling her by her wriggler name.
In the new year things got better for a while. While the Dolorosa was unfortunately droned, the Psiionic was brought to the ton along with a psychic named Milla who Signless and the remainder of his group quickly bonded with. Her Imperious Condescension also made an appearance around the same time but as a human she was harmless enough for the time being.

In late January the Surgeryfield event occurred. Signless was surgically modified into a tyrian-blood (with stapled-on gills and missing lungs, which was fun for him except not really it was terrible) and given Gl’bgolyb's ability to psychically kill everything below that blood color just by raising her voice above a whisper. He accidentally killed Sollux Captor upon leaving the hospital and came close to killing Disciple and Psiionic. After that he hid in his house and warned his friends and Mayfield-given family to keep away from him for their own safety.

When Her Imperious Condescension kidnapped the Psiioniic and kept him locked in her house to keep Signless from accidentally killing him, a combination of the stress of the event, guilt and the penchant for insanity that came with his new blood color caused him to temporarily lose control of his senses and go after her. They fought, a battle that ended up with the two tyrians killing each other and Rupert Giles and Psiioniic as collateral damage when Signless raised his voice without realizing it.

Once things were back to normal (well, less awful) Signless personally apologized to all those he had hurt and was quickly forgiven by most of them. The Condesce just got confused, angry and hung up the phone on him.

For the next few weeks the only interesting things that happened in Signless's life was Valentine's Day when he received a passionate but one-sided hate kiss from Rupert Giles due to the effects of flowers, getting swept up in a passive aggressive war between the Psiionic and the Condesce that involved the two of them hoarding every orange in town from each other and then watching as Giles accidently propositioned Psiionic with a bucket full of oranges because he didn't like them making his books smell like citrus.

Then Giles's drone children got ahold of one of his regains, candy that mentally regressed you to a teenager, and passed it around Mayfield. Signless, as full of piss and vinegar and rebellion as he'd been as a teenage troll, rounded up a group that included Disciple, Psiionic, Ripper (Giles using his teenage nickname) Dr. Horrible, Crowley, Feferi Peixies and Gamzee Makara to spread a little Hell around the town in Crowley's Bentley. They even had matching red leather jackets courtesy of Crowley. It cumulated in a night of sopor slime, alcohol, Alternian rebel songs about the empress and plenty of making-out at Make-Out Point. The next morning was more than a little awkward even for hippie alien Jesus.

With April came more of Mayfield's ridiculous shenanigans. The town forced the residents to play pranks on each other for April Fools' Day at the threat of developing a horrible fatal disease, Signless once again became a seadweller in the form of switching bodies with Orphaner Dualscar and the sudden appearance of Poison Joke caused Signless to turn into a small grey pony for a day or two (Klaus becoming a rather handsome blueblood troll for the same reason didn’t help Signless’s rather massive pale crush).

Near the end of the month Klaus was droned for a day to be canon updated. When he came back Signless was, of course, overjoyed to see him. Then he saw how angry Klaus was about events back on Europa and decided the best course of action would be to try to calm him down the way it was done on Alternia: through shoosh paps and a feelings jam. He got thrown twenty feet into a wall for his trouble. Later, once Klaus was calmer and Signless was sure he wasn’t concussed, they talked about it and decided that yes, they were moirails.

This brings us to Signless’s current point of being ripped from Mayfield and dropped into Ponyville.

Personality: The Signless is an oddity for his kind, a mutant living in a society where just the color of his candy red blood is enough to get him killed and yet he holds no shame for it. He believes in and preaches heretical ideas like equality and peace in a society that used a rigid caste system and viewed violence as the norm. Even his upbringing, being raised by an adult troll instead of a lusus, is unheard of in troll society.

But it's this strange upbringing that helped for Signless into the man he became. With Dolorosa's guidance, encouragement and love he learned not to be ashamed of his blood and to have no fear of his dreams and visions. Even when they stirred such strong emotions in him that he refrained from sleeping for days on end just to give himself a little peace from them he knew he was safe with his guardian. When he was older and the Psiioniic and Disciple joined him and Dolorosa, Signless learned what it was like to have a best friend with the Psiioniic and a love that transcended the four quadrants with his Disciple.

The Signless is the ancestor of Karkat Vantas and the post-Scratch version of Kankri Vantas. Though the three are genetically identical, there are huge differences between them because of their very different upbringings. Where Karkat is loud and frequently lets his temper show, the Signless is soft-spoken and has his temper thoroughly under control. It took getting captured, tortured and having those closest to him suffering horrible fates to even get him to swear.

Then there’s Kankri, the Beforian troll he was before the Alpha Trolls scratched their session of Sgrub and rebooted the universe. Kankri is a parody of the terrible type of self-righteous social justice warriors on Tumblr. He was also the Seer of Blood, which is why Signless had visions of Beforus and the pacifistic society trolls had before. These visions aided him in his beliefs that trolls didn’t have to be a violent race. Where Kankri was too caught up in his own social justice ramblings and being generally awful while well-intentioned, Signless took a more mature approach that included not overusing and misusing trigger warnings.

As well as having practically saintly patience, Signless is kind and incredibly trusting. This can be a very bad thing on Alternia. He tries to see good in all trolls, even the tyrannical Empress herself. It was this belief in the overall good in everyone that led him into a moirallegiance with Klaus Wulfenbach during his stay in Mayfield.

Sleep is something he doesn't get a lot of. There are times he goes days without sleeping because of his troubling visions and dreams. Instead he'll spend his days talking and debating with Psiioniic while Disciple and Dolorosa sleep. Right up until the ladies forced them to go to sleep and instead they’d pass notes back and forth like a pair of wrigglers at a sleepover so they can continue their conversation.

One of the strongest of his peaceful beliefs is pacifism. If he can help it he will abstain from physical violence for as long as possible, striking only to disarm or defend. He loathes violence and has a bad habit of holding onto guilty feelings when he has to use it. Being in Mayfield only made this complex worse. The severe remorse he felt after Surgeryfield in Mayfield would have broken him if he hadn't had such a strong support network to forgive and assure him his actions weren't entirely his fault.

Strengths:
-Troll, so his strength and speed are greater than a human’s.
-His race is nocturnal, so his night vision is excellent.
-He’s quite good as hiding and blending into a crowd.
-Post-cognitive abilities from being the Seer of Blood in his Sgrub session.
Weaknesses:
-He’s a strong believer in pacifism, which isn’t a good thing on Alternia.
-Sees the best in everyone, even those who don’t have that much good in them.

Cutie Mark: I’d like for him to be a blank flank. In canon all trolls are given a sign. Signless is a mutant who was raised by another troll, meaning he shouldn't technically exist and he wasn’t given a sign. However, if I ever canon updated him to post-death he would gain a cutie mark that would look like this.
