English: Approximate Buhturid feudal domains (iqta'at) outlined in red in the Gharb Subdistrict (Amal al-Gharb) of the Beirut District (Wilayat Beirut) and the Chouf Subdistrict (Amal al-Shuf) of the Sidon District (Wilayat Sidon), both part of the Northern March (Safaqa al-Shamaliyya) of Damascus Province (Mamlakat Dimashq) of the Cairo-based Mamluk Sultanate.
Two members of the Buhturid family held the governorship of Beirut District in the 1420s and 1490s, respectively. |
