Community Profile

I'm working on the formal mission statement. For now:

This community is for queer fans and allies who want to discuss queer issues in source material and fandom. I expect it will be largely dominated by genre shows/movies/books, as that's where fandom tends to flock, but I'm reluctant to limit discussion to SF/F/Horror, especially given the recent flourishing of gay soap storylines. Also because I don't know how many people are actually going to participate, so why limit things so soon?

The bare bones are: Television, movies, books, music, comics. Commentary, reviews, general commiseration. Trends in fandom. Trends in fiction, both fan and pro. Calls to action. Anything related to fannish experience and queerness.

Act right. Membership is currently unmoderated, although I'm keeping open the option to change that if it becomes neccessary. Be aware of what you're getting into. The community's titled "More Room For Stompy Boots" for a reason. I expect there will be some unhappiness expressed not only about some of the things TPTB do, but also some of the things fandom does. This is intended as a space where that can happen. This is not the place to come if all you're looking for is to have your queer ghetto pass affirmed.
