the thing when i try to write fiction is, i get a lot - if not all - of it worked out in my head before i ever get the idea that it could be a story, then when i try to make it one, it just feels like there isn't actually any point in writing it down anymore because it's basically already all played out, hasn't it?

i may be missing the point.

I know exactly what you mean. Now, I stop myself from working out how a story ends before I've written it, otherwise I never end up writing anything.

Not a problem I've had myself (I never write anything over three pages), but I've watched Alex have that problem. His solution is to force himself to write it out anyway so other people can see it, but he's an attention whore.
