So many things have happened since I last posted here. Sans got into Smash, I managed to get access into my tumblr account again... and other things probably happened too??

Anyway, my tumblr can be found here and you can follow me there now I guess. Not sure how much I'll use it but tbh it's pretty nice to post art without having to use another website to host it first, so I might just use both tumblr and dw from now on. I will still disappear from both for long periods when I just don't feel like doing social media, though, because that's just how I work.

In other news, I wrote before about my new year's resolution to finish more games this year. So here's an update on how that's going: a list of all the games I've finished in 2019, and my thoughts on them, and some doodles too! (Under the cut, since it got long)

So there's a remake of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town coming up and I'm pretty excited! It's the first harvest moon remake ever and I never thought they'd make one! Mineral Town isn't my favorite, but playing an old-school Harvest Moon with new QOL improvements and such sounds like exactly the game I want! Anyway, there'll be large images in this one, sorry about that.

So anyway, I'm pretty positive about this remake. At first glance I was kind of wary since it didn't look that great, but now that I've seen it in motion it looks a lot better. And anyway, the original won't disappear anywhere even if there's a remake! The new version will be different, and the localization will be different, and personally, I'm pretty dang interested in seeing the new Story of Seasons version of Mineral Town. My biggest hope currently is that they'll keep the rival marriages, but considering how close to the original most gameplay-related stuff seems to be, I'm sure they will.

I haven't been into Homestuck for years now, and I fell off of reading it a while before it ended. Still, it was a pretty big part of my youth. It's strange to think it's been exactly 10 years and three days today since the day I started reading it. I'm not sure what to say about that, but I felt like I should make some sort of a post about it. I still remember when Homestuck was a small, niche fandom, and I could literally see every bit of fanart made for it in one thread in the forums. I remember when people were making guesses what Rose, Dave and Jade were gonna look like before we had names for them, and the long period when Karkat and Terezi were only known as CG and GC. I remember getting really into the John x Karkat ship but being frustrated by how unpopular it was and saving every fanart I could find, and one day realizing, wait, there's a lot of Johnkat fanart suddenly, when did that happen? The fandom grew so quickly I didn't even realize it, and suddenly Homestuck was everywhere. Eventually, it calmed down, but it's the kind of fandom that's always out there somewhere, a massive behemoth lurking beneath the surface, only bursting out in full candycorn-horned ensemble every thirteenth of May. (-edit: April. it's fucking April. how do i forget what month it is goddammit)

Anyway, I may have never finished Homestuck, but I love and cherish the time I spent with it, no matter how embarrassing some of that time may have been. Happy birthday to Homestuck, John Egbert, and Jane Crocker!

I haven't been drawing a lot recently, but when they reveal a new Pokemon generation what am I supposed to do, not draw the new protags?

On another note, apparently some people out there recently got their hands on a bunch of assets from different prototype versions of Pokemon Red and Green! You can find the download link and some info here! It's a bit confusing, but it seems like it's legit. There's a lot of cool stuff, like backsprites of every proto Pokemon, including some that were in the Gold/Silver prototype! I can't believe they cut Kotora and Raitora from the games twice. Also, apparently Kangaskhan was originally in fact a Marowak evolution and carried a Cubone in its pouch? If I'm parsing that sprite right? I haven't really searched through the files too closely yet but I'm probably gonna draw some proto Pokemon once I've gone through it all.

Okay, so basically, this is a screencap adventure of sorts about Suikoden? Basically just going through the game and taking a lot of screencaps, then doodling pictures to go with them. Sometimes jokes, sometimes just something I wanted to draw, mostly characterization for Tir since he's a silent protagonist. People seemed to like these back in tumblr, so I figure they must be good?

Anyway, this part covers, like, maybe the first five-ten minutes of Suikoden 1? So follow along even if you're not familiar with the game. I didn't screenshot everything, but it should be enough to be understandable?

My new year's resolution in 2018 was to write more fic and actually post it, and, well... I got like 5 fics on my blog now so I guess I succeeded? It's more than nothing.

And while we're talking about resolutions, I might as well look back to 2017. Back in the start of that year, I didn't have a tumblr or anything, and I was really insecure about my art and unhappy with my skills with digital art, so my resolution was to draw something every day for the full year, even if it was just a sketch. And, you know what? It was the best resolution I ever made. In a year, I made huge leaps in my art and my confidence, enough that I even dared to show it to people. And since I posted summaries of all that on tumblr, I'm gonna repost it all here too. Not gonna go and find my descriptions of all that now because I'm feeling kinda sick tbh, might've caught a stomach bug from my bro.

Edit: fixed some images being wrong size! I guess I resized them wrong. Also I've decided, my resolution this year is to show off my OCs more and stop being all "nobody would care" about them! Also to finish some of those games I've been meaning to finish.
