𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗣𝗜 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 Part 2: Preparation and Characterization of Nanosuspensions, Loaded Granules, and Pellets This study investigates the integration of wet bead milling with fluid bed technologies, i.e. granulation and drug layering, respectively, as a combined method for developing stable oral nano drug products. Naproxen as Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) Class II model active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) with low water solubility of 16 mg/L was nanomilled in the presence of suitable stabilizers (polymer and surfactant) using a wet bead milling system. In Part 1 the manufacturing processes for the nanosuspension and its incorporation into carriers such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and isomalt using top-spray and Wurster bottom-spray fluid bed processes were described. Innovation in drug delivery never stands still at the Controlled Release Society Meeting in Lisbon This week, it was inspiring to see the latest advances shaping the future of drug delivery. From novel delivery systems and formulation strategies to translational research, the discussions highlighted how researchers across academia and industry are tackling some of the field's most pressing challenges. For us at Glatt Pharmaceutical Services, being present meant more than attending scientific sessions. We were proud to contribute to the meeting with a poster presentation on scaling up nanocrystals downstream processing in fluid beds, in partnership with our colleagues at WAB-GROUP® as well as having our colleague Dr. Annette Grave chair the "Manufacturing & Scale-Up" session on Wednesday. It's through these exchanges that we stay closely connected to where the research landscape is heading and continue supporting our partners in translating promising concepts into robust, manufacturable drug products.
