🎙️ The Open Current launches with a timely conversation about control, choice and transparency in enterprise technology. In Episode 1, Alan Shimel and Margaret Dawson (戴珍珠) CMO at SUSE explore the forces reshaping IT strategy, including open source, cloud native platforms, security, AI and tech sovereignty. ⚙️ One of the central questions: what does it really mean to control your technology stack? Organizations may own their infrastructure, but still rely on partners, platforms and proprietary layers that limit visibility and flexibility. That creates tension between innovation, operational control and long-term strategic choice. 🌐 The conversation also examines how AI and cybersecurity are raising the stakes. As enterprises move faster, they need to understand where their infrastructure runs, what sits inside the stack and whether their architecture supports future adaptability. 🎧 Watch Episode 1 of The Open Current with Alan Shimel and Margaret Dawson here: https://lnkd.in/eUbGp7fX #TheOpenCurrent #OpenSource #AI #TechSovereignty #CloudNative #Cybersecurity #EnterpriseIT #TechstrongTV

The first publicly documented autonomous AI attack changed the conversation: security teams needed visibility and open-weight models delivered it. SUSE is proud to join the Open Secure AI Alliance reinforcing the need for hardened runtimes zero-trust security and sovereign control over AI infrastructure 🙌 As Thomas Di Giacomo puts it open sovereign infrastructure is becoming the strategic standard for enterprises balancing speed privacy and governance. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dgurC6sC

For most of the past two years, the case for open-weight AI models has sounded ideological. After July's Hugging Face breach, it started to sound operational. When responders faced what's been described as the first publicly documented autonomous AI attack, closed commercial tools left them with blind spots, and many turned to open models they could run and inspect on their own infrastructure. That episode is the backdrop against which SUSE has joined NVIDIA, Microsoft, Cisco, IBM and dozens of others in the newly formed Open Secure AI Alliance. "An AI stack and its security posture are more than just a model; they require enterprise safeguards, zero trust security, and a hardened underlying runtime," said Dr Thomas Di Giacomo, Chief Product and Technology Officer at SUSE. "When speed, privacy, and local execution matter, having the power to run and observe advanced models safely within your control eliminates single points of failure and guarantees true business continuity. For organizations globally, especially those in Europe balancing strict data governance with rapid AI adoption, open, sovereign infrastructure is not just an alternative; it is the strategic standard." 👉 Margaret Dawson (戴珍珠) explains virtualization with a simple analogy: one office building, one address, shared utilities, yet inside, many independent businesses That’s virtualization: one machine acting like many, each with its own boundaries and resources. For companies rethinking their VMware strategy, Margaret’s message is clear: this isn’t just about cost; it’s about running the business better - with greater efficiency, flexibility and control. ⬇️ Find the full video in the comments ⬇️
