In the August edition of our newsletter, we will talk about how we make 24/7 customer support possible across the U.S. and Europe. We interviewed Brooke Alley, Technical Customer Support Manager at Orbem and one of our very first U.S. hires. Brooke talks about why trust matters so much to our U.S. customers, what we have learned and improved over time, and why we see ourselves as more than a technology provider. Making the invisible visible with AI-powered MRI at an industrial scale.
Info
See the world from the inside out. We use AI to industrialize MRI, delivering non-invasive insight into everything from fruits and seeds to eggs and the human body. By transforming what is becoming the world’s largest biological dataset into actionable intelligence, we help food producers, researchers, and innovators make better decisions. With previously inaccessible information, such as an embryo’s sex inside an egg, a seed’s health, or an avocado’s internal quality, we serve global customers across agriculture, food, and health. Our rapid, nondestructive analyses reduce waste, increase quality and transparency, and accelerate the shift toward a more sustainable and healthier future. Headquartered in Munich with an office in Houston, our world-class team is scaling inside-out technology to transform how humanity sees and understands biological matter. Curious what you could do if you could see inside? Discover our solutions at orbem.ai. Join our team and help us build a more sustainable and healthier world.

We see the potential inside everything and everyone. But seeing potential is only the first step. The real magic is what happens next. Because at Orbem, growth is one of the main reasons people choose to join us - and why they stay. We believe growth is a two-way street. We provide the tools, opportunities and learning budget. You bring the curiosity, accountability, excellence and drive to challenge the status quo. You have the freedom to shape your own path, but you never have to do it alone. We spoke with three team members about their growth journeys at Orbem: -Mira Cecilia Mahavadi joined as a Master's Student and, just a few years later, has been leading our Hardware team for the past 1.5 years. -Joud Mansour started as a Working Student in Technical Program Management and is now a Senior Product Manager. -Benjamin Knowles joined as an MRI Scientist and now leads our MRI Engineering team. If you're curious to hear their stories and what helped them get there, read our latest blog post. You'll find the link in the comments. #FromTheInsideOut #CareerGrowth #DevelopYourPotential

Curious about why non-invasive in-ovo sexing is becoming the global standard? Did you know that AI-powered MRI can see if an egg has been fertilized before incubation? Alexandre Malvezzi Tramontin, Jennifer Volz, Pablo Rubio, Leandro Delbem, and Ahmad Nassef are heading to SIAVS in Sāo Paolo next week. They love talking about why seeing inside the egg provides hatcheries with an operational advantage and improves animal welfare. Meet them at booth 90, where you can find the Orbem team alongside our partner Vencomatic Group. #FromTheInsideOut #Poultry #AnimalWelfare

The conversation around in-ovo sexing is changing. Not long ago, the focus was on whether these technologies could work at commercial scale. Today, the conversation is increasingly about how quickly they can be adopted. That's one of the reasons we're so happy to see AgFunder News covering the growing momentum behind MRI-based in-ovo sexing and what it means for the U.S. poultry industry. As producers, retailers, and consumers continue pushing toward higher animal welfare standards, the industry needs solutions that are not only scientifically validated, but operationally proven and capable of meeting commercial demand. We're proud to be part of that transition and excited to see the conversation continue moving from possibility to implementation. Thank you to Elaine Watson and the AgFunderNews team for the coverage. Link in the comments. #Poultry #EggIndustry #AnimalWelfare #FromTheInsideOut

This Friday's episode of the Eggheads Podcast is definitely worth a listen! Greg will sit down with Jasen Urena, EVP of NestFresh Eggs, to talk about innovation and what it takes to move a national egg brand to 100% Humanely Hatched across its retail line. NestFresh is the first U.S. egg brand to make that commitment at this scale. And we are genuinely excited about it. Humanely Hatched relies on in-ovo sexing, and every brand that adopts in-ovo sexing brings the industry closer to ending the culling of male chicks. Nest Fresh is showing what it is like to be a first mover, offering eggs from in-ovo sexed hens to consumers. Who do you think will follow? Tune in Friday. We certainly will. #FromTheInsideOut #Poultry #AnimalWelfare
Every innovation starts with a decision… Over the years, NestFresh Eggs has continued asking one question: "How can we do better?" From cage-free and free-range to regenerative organic and now becoming the first national egg brand to transition its retail products to 100% Humanely Hatched, the company's journey has been defined by continual innovation. This Friday on Eggheads, Greg sits down with Jasen Urena, Executive Vice President of NestFresh, to discuss what it takes to lead from the front, support more than 300 family farms, and keep pushing the industry forward. #EggIndustry #Innovation #Agriculture #NestFresh #AnimalWelfare #EggheadsPodcast

As a fruit producer, you can inspect fruit from the outside all day long. What it really looks like inside though (e.g. if there’s browning, a hollow core, or other defects) goes unseen until the shipment gets rejected. So how deep do you need to see? This question decides which quality control technology belongs on your line. Ben Danzer, one of Orbem's MRI scientists, compared available technologies, including Orbem’s AI-powered MRI. He assessed their primary use case, how far they see into the fruit, the spatial resolution they deliver, and how hard they are to integrate into an existing production line. The blog article he wrote details where each technology earns its place and where it falls short. Read the full comparison article on our blog. Last week, the EU Commission committed to revising animal welfare rules for laying hens and broilers by the end of 2026, to end male chick culling across the EU. Hatcheries are already installing the technology that makes this possible. And it's proven at scale. Our Genus Focus for non-invasive in-ovo sexing is live in 5 European countries. This is one part of the Commission's new Livestock Strategy, a plan to protect Europe's food security and cut import dependence across a sector that employs 7 million people and turns over €400 billion a year. Another part that matters just as much for poultry is: the promise to simplify the rules around circular bioeconomy and biomass valorization. Every year, up to 10 billion unfertilized eggs go into incubators worldwide and take up space while producing nothing. The Genus Scale sorts fertilized from unfertilized eggs before incubation begins. The unfertilized ones can be sold as table eggs. An egg that would have been binned becomes an egg someone can eat. A direct contribution to European food security. Read our full breakdown of the strategy in the blog. Link in the comments. #FromTheInsideOut #MRI #Poultry

On Tuesday, we celebrated the third edition of our Empowered Lab - an initiative created to empower, support, and connect the women at Orbem. This time, Karla Mieses spoke about the invisible beliefs women inherit - the stories that shape what we believe we can be, ask for, and deserve. She invited us to question what holds us back and ask: What could change if we chose to believe differently? This is a safe space where we were able to share our experiences and reflect on the invisible beliefs we all carry. We supported each other, shared our stories, and talked about how we have learned to navigate these challenges. We left feeling inspired by each other and are already looking forward to the next one. #FromTheInsideOut #WomenInTech
