From Working Student to Software Engineer Let’s get to know Johannes Krabbe, Software Engineer at NeoTaste Johannes’ journey with NeoTaste started even before his official first day. While working as a working student at Sonic, he was already supporting NeoTaste as a Software Engineer, which also meant being part of our London launch back then. Lots of conversations, hands-on collaboration, and one thing was clear early on: this was a great fit. First week highlight? Alongside with some other new joiners, also Johannes’ onboarding kicked off with our team offsite in Mallorca in March, where he didn’t just get to know the team, but also proved his impressive Beer Pong skills at the NeoLympics 🍻🏆 A day in Johannes’ life with NeoTaste in a wrap: Breakfast & coffee → S-Bahn to the Berlin office → Slack & Linear check → deep focus coding time → Lunch with the team (especially on Team Lunch Tuesday) → Afternoons filled with meetings, coffee chats & more coding → Evenings are for the gym or a quick road bike ride Advice for aspiring engineers: “Just build. Meet Raviraj Minawala, iOS Engineer @ NeoTaste 🍎📱 Today, we’re introducing Raviraj, who’s part of the team since February 2025! His path to NeoTaste makes perfect sense: he loves great food, builds great apps, and even created his own restaurant discovery app focused on visual menus. His journey to NeoTaste “I’m very passionate about food, and the idea behind NeoTaste instantly resonated with me. It combines everything I care about: technology, design, and food.” Onboarding: Remote, yet personal His highlight? The coffee chats with team members, especially since many work remotely. And just a few weeks in, he already got to join the Mallorca offsite. Not bad. 🌴 A day in his life Ravi starts his day by checking Slack, reviewing GitHub pull requests, and syncing with the engineering team. After that, he jumps straight into the next task, something he genuinely looks forward to, because every feature directly shapes an app used by over two million people. “I really enjoy the autonomy in my role. Every task has real impact, and that’s incredibly motivating.” What he loves about the team He especially appreciates the balance of trust and collaboration: “Everyone is open, supportive, and focused on creating a great user experience. Since I use the product myself, I naturally think like a user and build things I’d genuinely enjoy using.” His advice for newcomers in tech “Don’t underestimate the value of good communication. It’s just as important as writing good code.” 🎶 Fun fact 🎧 He loves digging into new music while also producing electronic music himself. 🧆 His favorite topic? Food. NeoTaste Christmas Team Event in Berlin 🪩 Last week, we came together for our NeoTaste Christmas Team Event, hosted in Berlin, at our brand-new office 🎄🏢 Team members travelled in from London, all across Germany and our other locations, making it extra special to finally have everyone in one place. The afternoon started as everyone arrived, fueled by amazing bagels from our NeoTaste partner Impala 🥯 Once everyone had settled in, Hendrik (CEO & Founder) shared our End-of-the-Year presentation. A great moment to reflect on what we’ve built together and what’s ahead. After that, it was time for food again (obviously at a food-tech startup): Pizza from Milano Vice and some in-office drinks 🍕 Plenty of great conversations followed. The kind of catching up you just don’t get beyond Slack and video calls. To round off the evening, we headed over to a bar nearby. ✨ 3 Days with Our Product Design and Engineering Team in Berlin ✨ Last month, our Product Design and Engineering team spent three days together on-site in Berlin. The focus was on collaborative work, team building, and reflecting on the past months with lots of great discussions, shared learnings, and fun along the way. 🧩 Escape Room & Christmas Market We mixed up the team for an escape room challenge. All groups escaped in under an hour, and the smiles say it all 😄 Fun fact: One of the escape room employees turned out to be a true NeoTaste ultra fan, so of course they received a voucher. We wrapped up the evening together at a Christmas market afterward. 🎄 💡 Hackathon Finale To close out the event, we dedicated a full day to a hackathon. After collecting and aligning on ideas that could be implemented in a short amount of time, small groups worked from concept to implementation on a variety of exciting topics. Some of these ideas might even make their way into the app soon 🚀 Big thanks to the entire team for the energy, openness, and strong team spirit. Berlin, that was amazing! 💚

Introducing Owen Keith, Senior Sales Representative UK 🇬🇧 Meet Owen, who joined NeoTaste in June 2024 and has since played a key role in bringing our London market to life. With over a decade of experience helping independent hospitality businesses grow through digital products, Owen came across NeoTaste through an Instagram ad and immediately knew it was the perfect match. “I’d spent years supporting restaurants with digital solutions. When I saw NeoTaste, it just clicked. I was right!” Being a Sales Rep at NeoTaste: Owen starts his day usually by reconnecting with yesterday’s prospects before hitting London’s streets again. NeoTaste’s Sales Reps are always on the run, discovering new corners of the city, uncovering hidden food gems, and building genuine relationships with restaurant owners face-to-face. Cities he’s helped build: London has been one his main playgrounds so far. 🔥 The team has signed over 1000 partners launched across the city 🔥 Overall, Owen has signed almost 500 partners across London, Liverpool, Brighton & Leeds What he loves most about his role: “Hearing first-hand how NeoTaste brings new customers through the door, and that they return paying full price, is incredibly rewarding. It makes every conversation worth it.” Advice for anyone starting in Sales: “Sales is a numbers game. Back your face-to-face energy with strong admin, and revisit businesses regularly. Owners sign up when they trust you and when they believe in the product.” On the Field & In the Field: 👉 When he’s not signing partners, he’s chasing goals (literally). Introducing Lucas, our Accounting Associate 💚 Meet Lucas Neumann, who joined NeoTaste in July 2025 as an Accounting Associate. Since day one, he’s been diving into the numbers, keeping our finance processes running smoothly, and helping shape the Finance team in a fast-growing startup environment. His journey to NeoTaste was a fresh start: “After completing my training as a tax clerk in 2022 and working for a few years at the same firm, I realized I wanted a new challenge and a different environment. I took some time off, traveled abroad, and in June 2025, I came across NeoTaste. The concept and the atmosphere immediately spoke to me and since July, I’ve been loving the dynamic and motivating environment here.” Onboarding highlight? “I felt welcomed from the very start. Even though I work remotely from Hamburg, I came to Berlin for a few days to meet everyone in person, and the team was so friendly and approachable. The Finance team is fun, supportive, and the team dynamic makes it easy to feel part of something meaningful right away.” What he loves most about NeoTaste: “The mix of flexibility, dynamics, and a great team atmosphere. Even fully remote, I feel closely connected to my colleagues. Campus meets Startup: Q-Summit x NeoTaste 💚 This month we had the pleasure of welcoming the core team of Q-Summit, one of Germany’s largest student-run conferences for startups and innovation, organized annually by the Universität Mannheim, to our Berlin office! 🚀 The visit was initiated by our former intern Jonathan, who’s part of the Q-Summit team himself and made this connection happen, thanks again, Jonathan 🙌 In total, 13 students joined us for a 1.5-hour deep dive into the NeoTaste world with plenty of questions, curiosity, and good vibes all around. 🎤 Hendrik kicked things off with an overview of NeoTaste’s journey: from the very first idea and early challenges to scaling across multiple markets and what we’ve learned along the way. 💬 The following Q&A session covered everything from team structure and growth steps to honest insights about mistakes, decisions, and founder routines. 🍽️ Lars then took over to talk about one side of our marketplace: the restaurants. He shared how we’ve built our partner ecosystem, scaled operations, and continuously improved processes across cities and teams. The students came prepared with questions about operations, leadership, work-life balance, and more. Their energy and curiosity made it a truly inspiring session for everyone involved.
