According to the IPCC, heat extremes are already multiple times more frequent and hotter. Heat and drought affect millions of people each year, driving impacts from crop losses to wildfires, as recent events in Europe and around the globe have shown. With a record-strong El Niño on the horizon, some regions could face an elevated risk in the months ahead. The global climate continues to send clear signals: July 2026 tied with July 2024 as the warmest July on record, according to NOAA data. Forecasts now point to a high likelihood of El Niño reaching record-strength later this year, potentially adding to global temperatures and influencing the risk of weather extremes across multiple regions. Learn more about the implications of a super El Niño and why understanding both climate change and natural climate variability is essential for managing weather-related risks: https://ow.ly/SHSV50ZyVOr #NatCatPulse #ClimateChange

After 26 years, James Turrell has reimagined his work “The Inner Way” for the Munich Re Art Collection, creating a unique new colour experience. Turrell is regarded as one of the most significant light artists of our time. The switch to LED technology presented a unique opportunity – building on the iconic static-light piece from 1999 – to set the light and colour in motion along the 150-metre-long passage. In a sequence of seven composed colour worlds with fluid transitions, visitors can now experience how different contrasts, dynamic colour blends and moods have an immediate effect on the senses. The architectural boundaries of the underground space virtually disappear in the process. This creates an impressive spatial and colour experience that immerses viewers in a world of colour and light – a moving encounter, and one that subtly challenges their perceptions. Swipe through to discover how one of the collection's most iconic installations has been reimagined nearly three decades later. https://ow.ly/5qtl50ZnNBO #MunichRe #MunichReArtCollection #JamesTurrell #LightArt #ContemporaryArt #ArtAtWork
