The Sphere in Las Vegas is known for what people see on the outside. But the concrete behind it had to meet equally ambitious demands. Major structural components, including raker beams and tub girders, required 10,000 psi concrete, tight shrinkage control, and dependable early-age performance. Master X-Seed, MasterLife SRA 035, and MasterLife 300D admixtures were among the technologies used to help meet those requirements. Projects like this show where lower-carbon construction is headed: not toward compromise, but toward concrete mixtures designed to deliver strength, durability, efficiency, and reduced environmental impact together. 🚧 Thank you for an inspiring exchange at the 14th International Conference on Superplasticizers and Other Chemical Admixtures in Concrete, organized by TUM/ACI in Munich! Today, Oliver Mazanec shared insights into how next-generation admixture technology based on an Intelligent Cluster System (ICS) can support the transition to clinker-reduced concrete by improving workability retention, robustness, and strength development—addressing some of the key challenges on the path toward lower-carbon construction. 🌍 At the same time, our colleague Frank Ong from Master Builders Solutions US contributed to the conference program with his presentation on an innovative chemical admixture for preventing Alkali–Silica Reaction (ASR)—another important step toward enhancing the durability and long-term performance of concrete structures. 💡 Together, these presentations reflect our commitment to advancing concrete technology through science-driven innovation—from enabling lower-carbon concrete to improving durability and extending the service life of infrastructure. 🤝 A sincere thank you to everyone who attended the sessions, shared their perspectives, and contributed to the inspiring discussions. Roberta Magarotto Named New CTO We are pleased to announce that Roberta Magarotto has been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) responsible for Master Builders Solutions technologies globally. Magarotto has successfully led R&D innovations in her previous role as Head of Research and Development. Boris Gorella, CEO, said, “Roberta has world-class knowledge and renowned expertise and will be a driving force for expanding our solution offerings.” To ensure that our customers have access to our world-class technologies from around the world, a newly established R&D Committee has been created to increase collaboration across our regions. Master Builders Solutions Appoints Juan Alfonso Garcia to Lead New ‘One Americas’ Region We are pleased to announce that Master Builders Solutions is forming a new ‘One Americas’ region, encompassing the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, to increase collaboration on expertise, technologies, and solutions across the region. Juan Alfonso Garcia, formerly President, Latin America, has been appointed to lead in the new role of President, Americas, focusing on integrating expertise in the Americas, further improving the customer experience. Dr. Bruce J. Christensen, formerly President of the U.S./Canada Region, has decided to voluntarily resign from the organization on July 31.
