Had our first real video call with Karen and Gabrielle today. I look forward to the day when the kids don't spend the whole time making crazy faces and holding objects 2" in front of the camera lens. I hope this was due to the novelty.

Arthur finished his Unit 2 (in year 1) of Spanish Rosetta Stone today, so he gets to go out to lunch at a place of his choice.

Tomorrow is their birthday party with friends at a paint-your-own pottery place. We hope that Elizabeth's best friend can attend; she's having a rocky time in her foster home and it's been threatened that she can't attend if she doesn't shape up, apparently. Sigh.

Miscellaneous things in the morning, including getting children to do their various required things, which include: breakfast, exercise, 15 min of Rosetta Stone*, and bathing (we alternate bathing days between the two of them. Their bathing day is also the same as their take-out-the-recycling day and their set-the-table day, so it's easy to keep track of who's on deck.)

Then both of them had finished a unit in Rosetta Stone (about 25 hours of lessons), so they cashed in their "get to pick a place to go to lunch" reward. Arthur picked the Chinese restaurant, and ... hmm, if I talk about what else we did, Metageek might make accurate conclusions about his Christmas present, so I'll just say we flew on an eagle to a marvelous store full of treasures, far above the town. While I shopped, Arthur threw stones at seagulls cruising below us. Fortunately, he's not a very good shot yet.

Then home, and some this-and-that, and I then got to go All By Myself to an actual Concert! A real Concert! With humans! By myself! It was The Sounds of Concord, a Barbershop & other songs group, in which Goldsquare sings. It was great, and about an hour and a half long, and I did manage to find parking space only a couple blocks away. Busy day in downtown Concord, I can tell you that!

Now we'll have a fairly calm evening, I hope, and tomorrow perhaps get the tree up in the living room, once we move some things around.
