Phoebe is a 39-year-old care assistant with an unfortunate habit of bumping off the people around her. She is ambitious and passionate, but can also be very impatient and a bit competitive.
Her first victim was her late boyfriend, Jason, who she killed because he burnt her supper. She has since killed two more people: her friend Alice, and her friend Gerald.
She is an English woman of Caribbean descent. A vegetarian who is allergic to sugar. She is obsessed with films, 90s boybands, the colour pink, rhinoceroses. She usually wears many layers of clothes. Her biggest fear is losing her sight. She has to save the world from rising sea levels.
Physically, Phoebe is slightly overweight but otherwise in good shape. She is average-height with dark chocolate skin, blue hair and brown eyes. She has a scar on her left cheek from a tussle with Gerald Henderson just before killing him.
She grew up in a working class neighborhood. Having never really known her parents, she was raised in a series of foster homes.
She is currently married to Sara. Sara is a butch dyke 5 years older than her and works as a carpenter. They have three children between them from previous relationships; Georgia, Vicki and Jackson. She would kill them all without a second thought if Robbie Williams proposed to her.
Phoebe's best friend is a personal trainer called Katrina Field. They have a very firey friendship. They enjoy camping together.
Phoebe's hobbies include palm reading, watching television, cycling, camping, murder, spreading fake news on Facebook, stealing candy from babies, listening to music, watching sport, playing card games, watch back-to-back action movies or crime dramas that amp up the adrenaline, jumping out of planes and starting fires
Coughs, sneezes and happy thoughts
Dec. 22nd, 2019 10:08 pmIt seems I was right yesterday when I said I thought I was coming down with something. I am full of cold, coughing and sneezing, all my muscles ache, my head feels like cotton wool and I've spent most of the day napping. Sara made me some chicken noodle soup and I'm sure it was lovely but I couldn't taste a thing. I'm doped up on cold & flu meds and lemsip and hopefuly I can shake it off before Christmas.
We watched Empire Strikes Back this afternoon. Or, at least, I tried to but I fell asleep. When I woke up, Sara was watching a documentary series on Netflix about Tiny Houses and she's making all sorts of excited noises about them. She's assured me that she doesn't want to pack up our lives and downsize quite that small. I like our three-bed house, thank you very much.
I mentioned in my post yesterday about being cranky that I should write about the things that make me happy to combat it. The idea has been swirling around my head ever since and, so, I present to you: A List Of 10 Things That Make Phoebe Really Happy
1) Sara.
It goes without saying that my wife makes me happy. We've known each other since 2005, been a couple for the last 8 years, and got married 4 years ago. She's five years older than me, is pretty much the dictionary definition of butch dyke (and uses the term to describe herself) and works as a carpenter.
2) My kids.
I have two children from a previous relationship. Georgia, 20, is a trainee hairstylist and lives with a group of friends about 5 minutes away. Jackson, 18 is away at university in Bath studying to be a teacher. I am SO proud of both of them.
Sara has a daughter, Vicki, from her previous marriage. Vicki is 20, she's in the army and her role is something to do with environmental health. Vicki and I do not get on, she blames me for her parents splitting up
3) 90s boybands.
Take That, East 17, Boyzone, Backstreet Boys, 5ive and Westlife. Also One Direction. And Spice Girls, Steps and S Club 7. I was 12 or so when Take That exploded onto the pop music scene, promptly fell in love with Robbie Williams and the rest was history.
4) Painting
Pretty much any form of creating art makes me happy. I've tried a few different types but usually come back to either watercolour or chalk. I've been playing with Fluid Art recently and it's a lot of fun, although very messy
5) Pink
It's super girly to have pink as my favourite colour but I swear I love it more than any millennial pre-teen girl. It's relaxing, comforting, soothing. It promotes feelings of caring, tenderness and contentment, self love and empowerment. It makes me smile
6) Lazy Days
My job can be stressful, thankless and tiring, sometimes I work 50+ hour weeks. There are days when I barely get chance to sit down. So when my shifts allow me more than a day off at a time, I love to sit and do nothing, put my feet up, cuddle with the cats and my wife, eat junk food, watch movies. Kind of like I've done this weekend.
7) Fireworks
I'm still a big kid at heart and I love bonfire night. I love going to an organised displaying, the bonfire burning, being all warm in a hat and gloves and scarf, playing with sparklers, eating toffee apples, drinking hot cider and the ooh and ahhh of fireworks exploding into a clear night sky.
8) Diet Coke
I'm a caffeine addict and Diet Coke is my drug of choice. I am trying to cut down on it, I only have 2 or 3 cans a day now. You don't want to know how many I used to have. Cherry Diet Coke is probably my favourite, or the original.
9) Clean Sheets.
It goes nicely with lazy days - relaxing in a hot bubble bath with a cocktail in one hand and a book in the other, music playing. You dry off, put on clean, warm, fluffy pjs, and climb into a warm bed with clean, fresh, bedding. Bliss.
10) Movies
No matter how many hours I've worked in a day, I always try to unwind with a movie. It helps me refocus, lets me lose myself in a story and know that pretty much, things always work out. Action and crime dramas are my favourite, a nice adrenaline punch.
I've toyed with the idea of looking into options for being a mature student, maybe doing something about films. It's not past the idea stage yet.
And now, I think I'm going to do the thing where I have a quick shower and go slide into bed, even if it's not freshly made

Naps, movies and pizza
Dec. 21st, 2019 07:51 pmI had a wonderful, restful, nap earlier; almost two hours, snuggled up with Sara and two of our cats. I also head very pleasant dreams I still feel sluggish and cold so I'm sadly leaning towards coming down with something. Then again, two hours isn't a huge amount of sleep, maybe a proper sleep tonight will help.
After napping, I had some cheese, piccalilli and crackers to eat before we did a final clean of the kitchen and dining room, and checked we'd got everything for Christmas. The dining room table now looks very festive with Christmas place settings and boxes of snacks and treats etc.
I came online for a while, commenting and friending more people from the friending meme, having people comment on my posts and friending me back which is very exciting. Hello to everyone who's come along to join the party.
This evening, Jackson decided not only did he want pizza, but that he was going to buy it for all of us. Maybe my boy grew up a little during his first few months at university. We ate far too much food - two large pizzas, potato wedges, chicken strips, cookies and a couple of bottles of diet coke.
Even better, we watched A New Hope and Rogue One before Jackson disappeared to his room to play video games with his friends online. I'm going to respond to comments on here, read a little then have an early night and hopefully tomorrow will have me feeling more like myself

Cold, tired and cranky
Dec. 21st, 2019 11:45 amI did not sleep well last night, I was tossing and turning all night and ended up giving up and moving to the couch. So as well as not sleeping well, I've now got backache because the couch is not built for sleeping on.
Then Sara dragged me to the supermarket at an ungodly hour so we could our Christmas food shopping done before it got busy. She was right, of course, and it was getting busy just as wel left. Naturally, we have bought far too much food when you consider there's only going to be 3 of us - although, Jackson is a teenage boy so maybe he counts as 2 or 3 people worth of eating. I'm sure the girls will be dropping in as well.
I'm now back on the couch, under a blanket, with the fire on and Splatter (one of our cats) curled up against me. I have a mug of caramel hot chocolate and a hot mince pie with brandy butter. I still can't get warm. I hope I'm not getting sick 4 days before Christmas. It's likely because I'm tired. Maybe I need a nap. Mmm nap. Wonder if I can convince Sara to join me?
Mostly I'm pottering around on DW. I've got some icons, I've got a layout. I either need to find some decent Take That/Robbie/Mark icons or learn how to make them. I don't even know where to begin with doing that. I've updated my profile and my interests and now I'm just wandering in and out of the journals of people who've posted on
st_aurafina's Friending Meme.
(I'm also pleased that I've retained some of the basic HTML I learned decades ago. Huzzah!)
Now that I've been thoroughly whiny, perhaps I should write a post about the things that make me happy
