With Baebaak Isha (roughly translated as "Unfiltered Isha"), DW specifically reaches young audiences in India. The Hindi-language format combines accessible educational content with journalistic analysis on   issues relevant to Gen Z in India. The videos are distributed via DW Hindi's social media channels as well as the partner platform Josh. Last year, the second season generated around 100 million views.

The new season focuses on historical developments in Germany and their impact on society and democracy. The episodes examine, among other topics, the dismantling of rule-of-law institutions in the Third Reich and the far-reaching consequences of systematic propaganda. The series connects these historical events   with current questions about media consumption, information literacy, and democratic values.

"Dialogue is at the heart of our series: we want to build bridges rather than deepen divisions. Through her show, Isha creates a space for exchange and connection, especially around the concerns of young people," says Mahesh Jha, Head of DW Hindi.

Isha Bhatia Sanan took over as DW India Bureau Chief in New Delhi in June 2026. Her close connection to the target audience brings young people's perspectives directly into the editorial work.

"With this series, we want to revisit a pivotal chapter in world history, explore how propaganda shaped societies long before the advent of social media, and encourage viewers to think critically about their choices and the information they consume," says Isha Bhatia Sanan

The third season of Baebaak Isha launched on DW Hindi's social media platforms in mid-August.
