Doctor Steinmetz has been my PCP for a while now, and I can confidently say that his practice is the most welcoming and "safe" one I've encountered. The office is very size inclusive, as well. I've been having appointments with him on a pretty regular basis due to chronic illness, and I can say that each appointment helps me heal from mistreatment I'd gotten and still get from doctors who do not understand the intricacies of unwillingly being plus sized in a skinny world. Prior to coming to Dr Steinmetz, I dreaded doctors appointments, not because I was sick but because I was going to invariably get a lecture despite the doc knowing why I wasn't losing weight. But now that I am seeing Dr Steinmetz, I feel seen in my symptoms and experiences, and not waved off simply because "oh you're fat and fat people have symptoms". I so deeply appreciate Doctor Steinmetz and the way he's redefined my perspective on my own standard of care. (oh, and his staff is so kind and present when needed, too)
