Officer Taylor MacKenzie
Taylor Lily MacKenzie was born and raised in Dillon, Texas and lived there her whole life until she graduated Dillon High in 2006. She comes from a small family of just her parents, Charlie and Josephine, and older brother, Jack, who is two years older than her. Her father is a school history teacher with Dillon High and her mother is a nurse at Dillon Hospital. After playing for the Dillon Panthers football team, her brother went on to attend college in California where he is currently studying to become a physiotherapist but he played his senior year with the Panthers alongside Quarterback, Jason Street and Fullback, Tim Riggins.

Taylor is now 20 and was in the same year at school as Jason Street. Despite having spent her whole life in a small town, she always wanted to be a cop… just not in Dillon. She figured if she was going to go through with it, she may as well jump with both feet first. When she finished high school, she applied for the Police Academy in New York and was over the moon when she scored the grades needs and was accepted. She now works as a rookie for the NYPD, just in the early stages of her career, which she loves. She hopes to one day make detective and has even contemplated applying for the FBI.

However things turned a little sour in the middle of January 2009 when Taylor was involved in an altercation with an alleged drug dealer and was stabbed twice in the shoulder and once in the chest with a flick knife. Much to her aggravation, she was put on a leave of medical absence to recover from the injuries and found herself back home in Dillon to stay with her family until she was fit to return to the beat. The incident will leave her with extensive scarring on her right breast and which has lowered her self-esteem of her body image and left her with an unfamiliar aversion of anyone seeing her naked.

Taylor has always been a kind-hearted and caring person. She harbours the laid-back Texan attitude to life and prefers to sit at home with her Dad and brother with a beer or two watching football than get too swept up in the party lifestyle. She’s not shy by any means, but she prefers not to be the centre of attention, either. She’s got a rather dry sense of humour and likes to laugh, but with her Dad as a teacher, she appreciates the need to work hard to get what she wants and it wasn’t unusual to find her with her nose in a book when she was younger. With her Dad and brother both footballers in the past, she is a big football fan and despite now living in New York, will forever be a Panthers fan and will take that fan passion with her to the grave.
