So what I'm proposing has more to do with the way we conceive of aspects and titles as game constructs, and is supposed to be an alternate way to think about your own aspect (and possibly make it easier). Current models and theories of aspects mainly involve considering one aspect in detail, with sparse reference to other aspects if only to make comparison simpler. This model would involve placing utmost importance on
pairs of aspects (domains) rather than individual aspects themselves!
A BALANCED THEORY
In balance theory of aspects, everything is considered within the framework of
creating a new universe. This is, after all, the ultimate purpose of SBURB/SGRUB. We already know that for a session to be successful, a TIME player and a SPACE player is required; for something to exist, after all, there would have to be time and space. Applying that idea to the other aspects, one may come to the conclusion that they represent important things that make up a universe (but aren't
necessary per se).
It's not good enough to have
only a TIME player or
only a SPACE player - there needs to be both, a
balance.
Who's to say this can't apply to all the other aspects?

I always found it interesting that aspects are in pairs, but that's never really been considered an integral function in determining title. Aspects are paired in opposites, but I don't believe that necessarily means that they are mutually exclusive or are actively opposed to each other. Instead, I believe they
work in tandem, being mutually interdependent in the same way yin is to yang. The concept of cold does not have meaning unless there exists the concept of hot - so it may be with the aspects.
Therefore one can infer that it is impossible to consider one's own binding aspect without also considering its counterpart.( Read more... )
