The police will want to keep details of the investigation quiet until they've reached a definitive answer, so much of the information involved won't be made available to the general public. Some things RO might pick up if she hangs around the inn are that it doesn't seem as if anybody's come forth with reports for a missing person, and it's been found that the management has recently changed hands in the past few days since the incident report. The new manager's record is clean and they're still learning the ropes of inn management, but the old manager has gone off on vacation somewhere... maybe he'll come back? Probably not.
Also the rent for the two rooms on either side of that one has become very very cheap in light of all of this, just in case somebody wants an affordable room.
