An Invitation from Chris Thile

Dearest Fellow Torch Bearers of Acoustic Music,

It is with profound delight and anticipation that I invite you to the fourth annual Acousticamp!!! After two salt-breeze-infused years in a row at Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA, we’re bringing it back East, just a short train trip from New York City up the mighty Hudson River to the Tarrytown House Estate in historic Tarrytown, NY, from July 13-16, 2026.

If you haven’t been to Acousticamp before and are wondering if it’s for you, IT IS. Whether you’re a professional looking to widen and deepen your artistry, an enthusiastic amateur ready to take your jamming game to the next level, or a passionate concertgoer yearning for an extended peek behind the curtain, you will love this camp! Prepare for relentlessly joyful trips down the music-making rabbit holes of performance practice, listening comprehension, composition, lyric-writing, improvisation, collaboration, recording, and on and on!

Once again, I’m pinching myself to be joined by an absolute dreamteam of instructors, known as our faculty, including Acousticamp legends, Chris Eldridge, Brittany Haas, Paul Kowert, Noam Pikelny, Michael Daves, Ashley Hoyer and Maddie Witler, PLUS some brilliant first timers like Blake Mills and Sarah Jarosz, as well as some very special guests, including Meshell Ndegeocello and Edgar Meyer, with many more soon to be announced.

Your days will be filled with classes tailored to your level and interests, discussions and Q&A’s designed to make you feel like you’re on the bus post-show talking shop with your bandmates, and intimate performances by our faculty and our special guests that remind us all why we keep striving, after which you’ll float off with your fellow Acousticampers to myriad jam sessions around the property, OR join me at my nightly listening party where I share recordings that inspire me (over cocktails/mocktails, naturally) and open up the floor for what has become some of my favorite musical discourse of the year.

And can you believe our luck?!? Abigail Gullo of New Orleans’ cocktail bar Loa, and Trevor Corlett of Madcap Coffee Roasters, are returning to bless us with world-class mixed drinks and coffee (as well as DELICIOUS classes on both!). You will marvel daily at the synergy between their respective crafts and ours!

Y’all, this past year’s Acousticamp was heaven on earth, and I have a sneaking suspicion this next one is gonna beat it. I’LL SEE YOU THERE!!!
