aquawayfinder: (Armor)
[personal profile] aquawayfinder
The connection between their hearts was strong. Stronger now that Aqua was alive again and had Terra and Ven's strength behind her. She lifted off the ground with her glider. The Aqua this Terra and Ven knew wasn't afraid of heights, so she was hopeful they wouldn't notice that she was terrified. Her armor hid much. And there was no time to be afraid. Link and Rhyme needed her. She focused on Link first, their connection stronger. Finding it, she flew her glider from the world, knowing that Terra and Ven would be right behind her.

She expected them to touch down in Shibuya. She didn't expect to find Link.... in the space between words. "L...Link?" He had no armor, it was dangerous for someone to be between worlds like this.... Fear for her friend swamped fear for herself. They needed to get armor on him, they needed to help... somehow...
aquawayfinder: (Back into Battle)
[personal profile] aquawayfinder
She was back in the darkness. The seemingly endless vast darkness. But things were different now. She was different. She still wasn't fully certain which set of memories was real, but now? Now she knew it didn't matter. She was still trapped. But now she had hope she wouldn't always be. And now her heart was connected. Not just to her two best friends and stitch and the others she'd met before she died. In any set of memories. But also to the hearts of all of those she met in Shibuya. Beat and Rhyme. Mr. H. Marinette and Eri. And her own partner. Link.

Link and Rhyme had Wayfinders. Terra and Ven had Wayfinders. And hers was the Wayfinder and the heart that connected them all. And she wasn't going to let any of them down. She wasn't going to lose herself to her sorrows and self pity. She was done with that. Too many people counted on her now.

So instead of trying to figure out which memories were real - the worlds of magic and Unversed or the worlds of Earth and Ruby City where she was a mutant who built her own Keyblade out of tech - she was going to use her memories. All of them.

In one set of memories, she had given her Keyblade to protect Terra and save him from this place. But in her other set of memories? She still had her Keyblade. She wasn't going to call it, she wasn't going to risk Terra if he still needed it. But she now knew how to make another. She knew how to remake her armor.

She had magic and mutant powers. And she had memories of the psychs she and Link had used to fight the Noise. The Reapers. Not only could she do this, she would do this. She thought about Mickey, both of him that she knew and started from there.

-------------

Time was meaningless in the dark. But her magic kept the Shadows and Darksides and worse at bay. She did not stop Would not stop. Not for them. Not for herself. She pushed herself as hard as she could, harder than she probably should. She rested only when her shaking limbs gave her no other choice. Thankfully she didn't need to eat here, as food seemed impossible to find. She didn't bother searching. Now that she was alive again, she had her powers back, and both sets let her heal herself. She used that to keep physical needs at bay as long as she could.

---------------

At some point she was done. New armor. A new glider. And a new Keyblade. The Keyblade held elements of many things that had gotten her this far. The symbol she and her friends wore. An X for Master Xavier. A vine of flowers for the gardens she had in Ruby City. The symbol from her player pin for her time in Shibuya. And at the center of it all, a heart. Her heart metaphorically. Which was theirs. Which was what connected them all and would bring them all back together.

And now that she knew the dead weren't always gone forever? Maybe once the others were all safe, they could storm the UG. Find Master Eraqus.

Everything ready, she lifted her new Keyblade and studied it, studied the rainbow wayfinder hanging from the dangle of it. Then she punched the button on her new arm cuff, triggering her armor.

Then came the hard part. The place where she couldn't reconcile the memories. The set where she flew on her glider like it was nothing, like it was simply a part of her Keyblade mixed with her will made manifest. And the set where mastering her fear of heights was the part of her Mark of Mastery exam that she had almost failed. Had been sure she had failed. Because she had been afraid the whole time. Had passed because she'd done it anyway.

And she'd do it anyway again now.

"Terra, Ven," she whispered, closing her eyes. This was for them. For them she could be brave. For them she could do anything. "I'm coming," she whispered as she stepped on the glider. She hooked the new Keyblade to the wrist of her armor, then gripped onto the glider tightly. Took a breath. Then another. Then realized that it was missing one last thing....

------------

A few tweaks later and she was back on the glider, ready to try again. Telling herself she wouldn't fail again. She almost did, but then she looked down at the space between her hands on the glider. Four names were etched there, now. Terra. Ven. Link. Rhyme. Reasons to remember. Reasons to be brave. To be the Master she was supposed to be.

One last deep breath, and with her eyes focused on the names, her heart yearning for her friends, she flew upwards and broke out of the darkness, following her heart to where she left Ven. The Conductor said that he had returned Terra and Ven's hearts. To their bodies, or to wherever they had been? She was unsure. And the other set of memories... her friends were hidden somewhere in time. She didn't know when. She wasn't sure which Terra and which Ven were real. But she knew she had one thing that would never steer her wrong. Her heart.

"Ven," she whispered, and followed her heart, not sure if she'd find his lifeless shell, her friend recompleted, or her friend unbroken. But no matter what she found, she was heading for Ven. Her heart told her it was so. And from now on? She was going back to listening to that.

The attempt to send them home... Well.... Cassie hadn't even known someone was trying. Since Jaenelle wasn't trying, she wasn't either. But the spell hit her all the same. And then the next thing she knew... she didn't know any more. At least, she didn't know about Medi. She was home in the moment she had left. So she didn't know Trunks had been caught by the spell. Didn't know to look for him...

He would find himself in a rather odd place. It looked like a rather elaborate sitting room. The carpets under him were varied and well made, and despite being separate, all went together elegantly. There were a number of seats in the room, as though usually more than a dozen people would gather in it at once, with a low table between two sofas as a focal point for the room. On the table was a tray set with tea and tea cups and a myriad of small sandwiches and sweet delicacies. Nothing that would leave fingers sticky or was likely to spill and stain.

The entire room was lovely, and large. But it was hardly empty. In addition to the table and the carpets and the seats, there were elegant tapestries on the walls. But what might get the most attention once he looked up from the rugs, after the food, would be the people. Two women sat side by side on an embroidered loveseat. One woman had cool hazel eyes, and brown hair in a long braid down her back. She was dressed sharply, and a bit formally and had a serious air to her. The other woman, while she was the same age as the first and it was easy to tell that, she just had something about her that made her seem closer to a teen than a woman in her late 20s. Her dark hair was a soft cloud around her pale face, and her blue eyes seemed amused, but kind.

Standing behind the loveseat, his hands braced on the back, more or less one behind the shoulder of each woman, was a young man with grey eyes and short dark hair and a no-nonsense look on his face, as he examined Trunks and sized him up. All three of them had a similar feel to them, energy-wise, as Jaenelle and Cassidy, but their strength fell somewhere between the two, and varied from person to person. And there were more males with that same sort of feeling outside the room to either side.

There was also one more male with that feeling in the room. He sat in a chair near the wall, off to the side a bit where he could watch everything. His brown hair was short and curly and his blue eyes held amusement and possibly mischief. By his feet was a small dog that looked to be asleep, but wasn't, and didn't have the ki most dogs would have. It was an odd blend of animal energy... and what he was picking up from the others....

The hazel eyed woman sounded mildly amused when she spoke, her lip twitching up ever so slightly, betraying the stern mask and bearing she was trying to maintain. "When Karla said we'd have an odd visitor drop in, I hadn't quite expected it to be so literal."

The other girl lost what little composure she had, and laughed into her hands. Her laugh was low and warm. The curly haired male only grinned more broadly.

(Using Wake as a setting, since we both know it well enough...)

Chara had been dying. That was the plan. Chara was supposed to die, Asriel was supposed to take Chara's soul, and go to the surface. There Asriel had to kill six more humans. Chara knew that was going to be the hard part, getting the kind and gentle Asriel to kill. But it was the only way. And besides, Chara knew what humans were like, how they treated anyone who was different. And Asriel was different. For one thing, Asriel was kind. For another, Asriel had a good heart. And for another, Asriel was an upright goat monster. Once the humans attacked, Chara knew that Asriel would have to defend, to save both of their souls. Asriel was stronger than anyone else knew. But Chara knew. They were best friends. They were siblings. Chara knew Asriel better than Asriel knew Asriel.

All Chara had to do was die. Asriel would do the rest, then all the monsters would be free to return to the surface and take revenge on the humans. It was the only way Chara knew to repay the wonderful love and kindness that the monsters had shown them. To free them all.

The pain reached its worst point. Chara heard Asriel begging to call off the plan. Asriel clearly hadn't realized how much pain Chara would be in. But Chara had known. Or thought they knew. This may be worse than anticipated. But it was too late now. Chara had ingested a lethal dose.

Pain, dying. Chara couldn't see any more, but the smell and feeling of their new family was close. So different, to have found a mother, a father, a best friend who was also a sibling. Chara had never had any family worthy of the word. Not until the Dreemurrs.

Chara heard the command to wake and finally, reluctantly opened their eyes for one last look at their family... except....

The pain was gone but so was Mr. Dad Guy. And Goat Mom. And As.... Chara sat up, panicked, looking around.

"Where... where am I?!"

Sans kept his reasons and his thoughts, as he often did, to himself. He spent his days with the Queen. Brought her new books from the library. And listened to her talk about how she missed Frisk. He missed people too. Every day, same thing. Butterscotch pie with the Queen, new books, snail facts, Frisk.

Sans usually was the type to sit back and let things happen when he couldn't change anything. But the same thing every day was starting to grind on him, and he had a bone to pick with the kid. So... he let the plan form. Then he thought about it for a while more. And then considered it. Finally, he decided to do it. He went to each of his jobs to cash in his vacation time. He made a few quick stops to pick up the things he might need for the journey. A snack. Something from Alphys' lab. Some yellow flower petals from a grave and then...

And then in the dead of night he dug into the grave. Chara. With the Dust of Asriel. He almost stopped himself. But a soul was needed to pass through the barrier. It was the only way to find Frisk and bring the kid back to the Queen. And if his plan worked... the whole of the Monster World would feel less empty when the kid returned. And all things considered, he thought it was fitting to use Chara's soul to go find Frisk. The Queen might not understand or agree, but this was right.

And it was the only choice. The only Human soul left in the Underground. He would put it back when he was done. He wrapped it carefully in flower petals and dust, and hid it in his inner hoodie pocket. He repaired the grave, so that if he never returned, the Queen would never know what happened. If he could bring back Frisk, it wouldn't matter if the Queen found out. She wouldn't stay mad at him. Not for this. Not for anything.

Everything prepared, Sans headed for his home for a nap. Saw his sock on the floor. Notes for a puzzle. A smell in the kitchen. Checking it out... Spaghetti. No one had been here to make it, but there it was.

And with the sight of the creepy pasta, his hesitation was gone. It was time to go. It was time to find Frisk.

He made his way unseen through the Underground. Easier than it used to be. And he came to the palace. No one stopped him. No one would. He came to the barrier. No one knew anymore how long it had been in place. Certainly longer than Sans could remember, all things considered. He put one skeletal hand to the barrier and felt it thrum.

Two souls resonated. His and Chara's. It wasn't enough to lower the barrier and free his people. It was enough to let him pass though.

And so he stepped through the barrier, unwitnessed, and entered the human world. The surface world. He wished his brother was there to see it with him, but the bonehead wasn't. And Sans moved on before he decided that he didn't have the spine to go on.

He wandered a while. hiding from people. He was good at that. He did send some chills up a few spines when someone caught a half glimpse of him at night. But that was it. He didn't linger, not one for the same old haunts.

But after a week of wandering, he realized the Human World was too large. Just as Frisk had been guided by the Queen and others in the Monster World, he needed a guide in the human world. So he changed his search parameters, and he started to look for someone who was alone and seemed to be human. He was certain he could take down normal human one on one if he had to. But he didn't think he'd stand a chance if a mob of them had a bone to pick with him.

So he moved carefully... looking for someone to approach....

(The character in multiple outfits.)

(Outfit of the day)

It wasn't the first time that something odd had happened to Makoto. She was almost getting used to it. But every time so far, Ito-san had been with her. This time, when she passed through the tunnel in the old wall behind Ito's grandmother's house, she came out somewhere different, alone. For one thing, it was day now, and had been evening before. And a bit colder than she expected.

Mako seemed, to all simple observation to be a young woman of about 16 or 17, probably American, French, or British by her looks. Long blond hair moved lightly in the wind, her shirt and skirt complemented a figure that might not make her the envy of all girls her age... but when paired with her height, and the prettiness of her expertly made up face, and the loveliness of her hair, she was easily one of the prettiest girls in school. Which sadly had brought her a lot of grief that she really didn't need. She just wanted to graduate High School with Ito-san and join a theater troupe, and act any and every role. Male, female, human, plant, animal, alien. So long as Makoto shared the stage with Ito... she didn't care what the role was. Like Ito... Mako just wanted to act.

No matter what she had to do the achieve her dream. And right now that meant figure out where she was, and when, and get home without spilling her secret. That was the condition. She could do whatever she wanted with her life after High School, if she graduated with her secret intact. And she would do whatever it took. So long as her father never discovered that Ito had known her secret from day one, she should be able to hide it from everyone else.... hopefully.

She clutched the strap of her purse as she looked around. It had her brush, some hair pins, some makeup, a small book of monologues, some money, part of the script the drama club was currently working on, and a few other odds and ends.

"Hello?" the sweet high voice asked as Mako looked around this odd place. Where was she?

The teleportation went a bit... wrong. This was clearly not where the Plantir was supposed to send him, because this was most certainly not Arda. Where it was, however, was something of a mystery. Looking around would show he was on a cleared path through dense foliage. Though the trees were probably among the oddest he had ever seen.

The tree nearest to him had... shoes. Instead of flowers there were budding shoes. Another tree had bread growing, another pies... and surrounded by bushes on the other side of the road was a tree laden with a certain type of plumbing fixture with which he might or might not be familiar (I have no clue about bathrooms in Arda, okay?)

Ahead just a bit was an even odder sight. There was a small cleared campground like area with a brown tent that had... well... it looked like it had ears on one end and a tail on the other and seemed almost furry. Sitting in front of it was a young woman with long greenish hair, watching him. Something else, hidden behind the tent, was watching him as well. In front of the woman was a large striped gourd that she had been cutting into carefully with a small odd looking knife.

She gave a small smile when she saw she had his attention. "Traveler. Do you walk the path in peace, or do you mean me harm?" She spoke without fear, as though even if he meant her harm, he could not achieve it.

Amelia had left the house she now shared with Yuuta to go wait at the train station. She did that a lot, ever since she arrived. In case someone she knew showed up. It was odd here, without Mels. And... well... yeah. Rory too, she guessed. She couldn't remember ever being anywhere so long without him tagging along behind them like a shadow. She had Frisk and Yuuta to play with now, but it wasn't quite the same.

And since the cracks in the walls had shown up in RC a while back... she had been looking for the Doctor again. Not that she had ever really stopped, but meeting past him had helped some. But now she wanted the one who knew how to close the cracks if they showed up again.

So she was sitting on her suitcase, at the train station, doing what she did best. Waiting impatiently.

Nadeshiko had no clue why she was in London. Really, last thing she had recalled, she was planning the next lesson in letters for Riodan, and thinking about the Halloween dance and then... she was back in London. A quick check showed both eggs safely in her pocket. She was in a dress from Cinna, so she'd have to get new uniforms when she got back to Japan.

She found a call station and called home collect. They had thought that she was a he and that he was at school, which is where he had been before Teleios. They wired her some money to hold her over, and someone would get a flight out to meet her as soon as possible. She took out a hotel and then promptly left the building to wander around. Last time she'd been to London she had been a mix of emotions, this time she meant to enjoy herself. She bought a prepaid international phone and called home to give them the number, then slid it in her pocket and began wandering down by Queens Way. Maybe she'd hit Hyde Park. Or find somewhere for high tea, and then dancing. She figured that she had a few days here before they came to take her home, and she and Temari meant to enjoy them!

Temari floated about over her head, looking around for fun things, or the very few others who might be able to see the Shugo Chara. To those who could see her, there would be no reason to think that no one else could see it. It would look like someone was flagrantly showing off magic, since the chara was a handspan high, floating about along side Nadeshiko.

Aqua had fallen a bit off of the beaten path in her hunt for her friends, and on her mission Master Xeonort, and to stem the tide of the unversed. It had been a gamble, a long shot, but she kept arriving after everyone else, too late to help, too late to send Ven home, to be of assistance to Terra. This time she hoped to get ahead of them all. She wanted the bring Ven home, where he'd be safe, then to work with Terra to make sure the Master was okay, and to stop the unversed.

She landed in a stand of trees, each with a different shape on the bark, like a cut out door, complete with handle. This was perhaps the oddest world yet. She reformed her glider into a Keyblade, then vanished it. She picked a door at random, and opened it. stepping int Halloween town.

"Now what is this?" she murmured to herself as she mae her way close to the center of town....

She hadn't gotten to find him after the mess she made of things when she was age regressed. Much to her dismay. That was the last Billy had seen of her, to now, a few days after his age was restored to him. Stepping out a door should have taken him to a corridor, but Q was Q, and instead he found himself coming out of a narrow alleyway, the door behind him vanishing.

The city was... a hodgepodge city. The businesses that faced the street were a mix of styles and colors that clashed terribly. They sold all sorts of every last thing, calling out to tourists who pass by to buy deep fried locusts and guaranteed bionics paste... whatever that is. Only two things united all the shop fronts. One was that while the first floor of each was in good repair, the apartments over looked grungy sad and neglected. The other was the trilobite. The symbol that Agatha always wears at her neck ws on every building in some form or another.., and in some cases .... as the merchandise. A gold leaf covered chocolate trilobite with a hot pepper inside was being hawked not too far from where he was.

And then there was the seperation between locals and tourists. For  someone as observant and clever as Billy, watching from the ally, he'd be able to see a separation between tourists and locals. The Locals wore bright warm smiles... until the moment no one seemed to be looking. Then they looked tired and worn, like their homes above the shops. The tourists were pointing, gawping, gawking, outlandish lot, staking in everything. They wore all manner of clothes and a fair number of them were at least partially metal. Some had stitching in their skin that made it clear that they either had a lot of work done or... were built rather than born. Very few of the locals looked like that, and those that did were invariably elder.

But the crowds ebbed and flowed like they did in any tourist mecca. Or... should that be mecha?

Rita was sure she had the perfect plan this time, a whole world full of monsters, all she had to do was draw them out and set them loose on Earth. Starting with Angels Grove. Because predictable. Really. So she opened the portal and the first monster came out and threatened Angels Grove.

He came out, he got trounced by the 'Rangers.... and he turned and fled back for the portal. He didn't stick around to be finished off. But pursuing him would show them the portal. Rita, in the way of the creature would wind up fleeing into the portal as well, with one of her generals.

Through the portal an odd place could be seen. Steam punk! Airships! Goggles and gears! Walking past the portal, seeming unaware of it, is an upright cat on 2 legs, wearing a great coat, talking to the green haired woman walking with him.

The woman had odd bladed weapons crossed on her back, and while they stopped near the portal... neither seemed aware of it. Though they were discussing the dragon that had just flown past....
