A new chapter starts. 🚀   Earlier this month, we welcomed our nine new apprentices to #BAUMANN Switzerland.   Their first week was all about getting to know the company, their new colleagues and, of course, each other. Because starting an #apprenticeship is not just about learning a profession. Denn eine #Berufslehre bedeutet nicht nur, einen Beruf zu erlernen. Es geht auch darum, seinen Platz in einem neuen Team zu finden.   Ein Highlight war der gemeinsame Teamevent mit Spielen, verschiedenen Challenges und einem BBQ. When installation space is limited, generating force isn't always the biggest challenge – controlling it is.   In many applications – from autoinjectors and drug delivery devices to vehicle doors, braking systems and seating mechanisms – the challenge is to generate controlled rotational force within a limited installation space.   That's where torsion springs come into play.   Designed to deform by twisting around their own axis, torsion springs provide high torque and low spring rates in a compact design, enabling precise rotational force control. But designing the right torsion spring involves more than selecting the spring itself.   Before specifying a torsion spring, it's worth asking: 👉 How much installation space is available? 👉 What rotational force is required? 👉 Which leg configuration best suits the application? 👉 Which material and surface finish are most appropriate?   These considerations help define a torsion spring that meets the application's specific installation and performance requirements.   At #BAUMANN, we manufacture torsion springs from high-quality spring wire types – including oil-tempered, stainless steel, carbon steel and copper-based materials – in wire diameters from 0.5 to 7 mm. Using both round and rectangular wire profiles, we produce single and double torsion springs with inner, outer or custom-bent legs. Depending on the application requirements, we also offer additional processes such as heat treatment, shot peening, glass bead blasting, cleaning, coating, oiling, durability testing and 100% visual inspection.   Whether used in automotive, industrial or medical applications, torsion springs may be small in size – but they play a critical role in providing precise rotational force control where it matters most.   ❓ Which design consideration has the greatest impact on torsion spring performance in your experience?

When temperatures rise, sometimes the best way to say "thank you" is with an ice cream. 🍦   Recently, our HR team at #BAUMANN Czech Republic surprised colleagues with a visit from a local ice cream truck, giving everyone a chance to step outside, enjoy a well-deserved treat and spend a few relaxed moments together.   It wasn't about a big celebration or a special occasion. Just a simple gesture to brighten the day, catch up with colleagues and take a short break from the daily routine.   Judging by all the smiles, we'd say it was a success.   Because sometimes, the smallest moments are the ones people remember most. 💙   #LifeAtBAUMANN #EmployeeExperience

What does a spring manufacturer learn from standing next to a blast furnace?   Quite a lot, actually.   Recently, our Head of R&D, Martin Oschwald, and Strategic Project Manager Jasmin Werra joined more than 40 representatives from the European spring industry for a plant visit to Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, organized by the Verband der Deutschen Federnindustrie e. V. (VDFI).   Offering firsthand insights into steel production – from the blast furnace and steel plant to the galvanizing line – the visit was much more than an interesting factory tour for #BAUMANN.   Steel wire and strip are the foundation of many of our springs, stampings, and bent components. The better we understand how these materials are produced, the better positioned we are to support our customers with expertise, quality, and innovative solutions.   As manufacturers, it's easy to focus on our own processes. But real innovation often starts with understanding what happens long before a material reaches our production floor.   The experience also provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with peers across the industry – an opportunity to share perspectives, discuss challenges, and explore ideas shaping the future of our sector.   Because the better we understand the entire value chain, the better we can create solutions for our customers.   Many thanks to Verband der Deutschen Federnindustrie e. The final point at this year's Wimbledon has been played, but at #BAUMANN, the rallies continued. 🎾   Recently, our colleagues at BAUMANN Germany came together for a Tennis After Work event in Lichtenstein – an evening that combined friendly competition, new connections, and plenty of fun, both on and off the court.   Whether picking up a racket for the first time or already feeling at home on the baseline, everyone had the chance to join in. The evening concluded with a shared dinner, giving colleagues from different teams another opportunity to connect beyond their daily work.   A big thank you to everyone who helped organize the event and to all the colleagues who made it such a memorable evening.   Here's to many more opportunities to stay active, strengthen team spirit, and enjoy time together. 💙   #TeamSpirit #HealthAndWellbeing

A simple bike ride can become something much bigger.   This year, once again, our colleagues at #BAUMANN Switzerland joined the bike to work challenge – choosing two wheels over four and turning their daily commute into a shared experience.   And after weeks of pedaling throughout the month of June, encouraging each other, and chasing the next kilometer, they proved that small everyday choices can create a meaningful impact.   Since our first participation in 2018, this initiative has become a tradition that brings our teams together, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and contributes to more sustainable mobility.   This year’s results speak for themselves: 🚲 9,434 km cycled together 🗓️ 422 active cycling days completed 💚 1,359 kg of CO₂ saved   Congratulations to all participants – especially to our 3 best teams: 🏆 Velostrampler 🏆 Drahteselreiter 🏆 Spring Force One   And our cycling champions: 🥇 Christoph Iwan with 1,038 km 🥈 Daniel Schoettle with 802 km 🥉 Sandro Hilpert with 790 km   Thank you to everyone who joined the ride and helped make this year’s challenge a success.
