It moves $1 billion in trade every day.   That’s why we’re expanding it — to unleash more than $100 billion in new annual trade capacity, create more than 17,000 good jobs, and make it even easier to sell Canadian goods to new markets around the world.

  • We are pleased to welcome Fireworks AI into our Teachers’ Venture Growth portfolio. Our venture team has participated in the company’s Series D Financing as they lead the shift towards open models that can be tailored to an organization’s own data, workflows, and customers. "Enterprises don't want to rent AI, they want to own it and build it around their own data and workflows. Fireworks has the infrastructure depth and the vision to make that happen. We think they're building a category-defining company." Rick Prostko, Senior Managing Director, Teachers’ Venture Growth. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gN92E2rh

  • On a new episode of the Drumbeats podcast, Robert Sturgeon, CFA, our Senior Managing Director of Global Strategy, talked about how opportunities with meaningful Indigenous participation are attracting investor interest. Recorded at the recent Canadian Indigenous Investment Summit at the London Stock Exchange, Robert’s conversation with JP Gladu, Mark Magnacca, and Rob Brant explore why building Indigenous relationships and deepening understanding of the investment landscape are important for investors in Canada and abroad. "Historically, people have viewed engagement with Indigenous communities through a very narrow lens. Equity participation is a completely different way of doing business. • Recently, our Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Value Creation, Equities, Erem Kassim-Lakha, joined a panel on "The Legends of Value Creation" at the Private Equity International (PEI) Conference in London alongside operating partners from Bridgepoint, Cinven and Permira to discuss the evolving role of operational value creation in private equity. The discussion highlighted how the operating partner role has become increasingly central to driving investment outcomes in today's market. As traditional sources of returns become more constrained, operational excellence, strategic execution and leadership are playing a greater role in creating long-term value. A few key takeaways: • Operational value creation has become a primary driver of investment performance, with investors increasingly relying on growth, productivity improvements, talent and execution to generate returns.  • The most effective operating partners combine pattern recognition, sound judgment and deep functional expertise to tailor value creation strategies throughout the investment lifecycle, while helping portfolio companies navigate transformations such as AI adoption.  • Delivering impact requires more than expertise alone. Strong operating partners build alignment across management teams, boards and investors, translating strategic priorities into measurable outcomes through disciplined execution and accountability.  • Together, these insights reinforce the growing importance of operational value creation, and the critical role operating partners play in helping portfolio companies build stronger, more resilient businesses.
