Il laisse entrevoir ses volumes généreux, sa lumière naturelle et ses circulations ouvertes, dont un parcours fluide dans l'atrium donnant sur les différentes sections de la bibliothèque et du centre de création artistique professionnelle. CLINIQUE DE SANTÉ GLOBALE DU CÉGEP SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU — NEUF + NFOE signent la conception de la future Clinique de santé globale au Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, un projet annoncé le 22 juin par la ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, Martine Biron, aux côtés de la directrice générale du Cégep, Nathalie Beaudoin. Pensé pour accompagner la croissance de la population étudiante, cet agrandissement offrira un environnement d’apprentissage concret aux étudiants des programmes techniques de soins infirmiers, analyses biomédicales, travail social et physiothérapie tout en renforçant l’accès à des services de proximité pour la communauté du Haut-Richelieu. Visant une certification LEED argent, ce nouveau bâtiment donnera forme à une architecture éducative durable, conçue pour répondre aux besoins de ses usagers et favoriser leur bien-être. Designed to support a growing student population, the expansion will create a hands-on learning environment for students in the technical programs of Nursing, Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Social Work, and Physiotherapy. The project will also enhance access to essential healthcare services for the Haut-Richelieu community. PLACE DES ARTS — Après plusieurs années d’études menées en collaboration avec Atelier TAG, nous sommes très heureux de voir la Place des Arts dévoiler hier le projet de réfection de l’édifice des Théâtres. Conçu par les architectes David, Barott et Boulva pour l’Exposition universelle de 1967, l’Édifice des théâtres de la Place des Arts s’inscrit dans le vaste mouvement de rénovation urbaine qui a transformé le centre-ville de Montréal. Né de la volonté du maire Jean Drapeau, il constitue aujourd’hui l’une des plus importantes œuvres de style brutaliste du patrimoine architectural montréalais. L’EDT se distingue également en tant que l’un des premiers bâtiments au Québec à adopter un revêtement extérieur en béton. Réalisé en seulement 11 mois, il se démarque par sa volumétrie puissante, sa blancheur emblématique et ses quelque 600 panneaux de béton préfabriqué, témoignant d’un usage expressif et assumé du béton. Son traitement extérieur en panneaux de béton rainurés est d’un raffinement exceptionnel qui fait partie de ses caractéristiques essentielles et de ses valeurs patrimoniales. Menée dans le respect de son architecture brutaliste, l’intervention vise à renouer avec l’esprit du projet d’origine en renforçant son rapport à l’espace public, tout en assurant la pérennité de l’édifice et en améliorant sa performance énergétique. /   PLACE DES ARTS — After years of careful studies working alongside Atelier TAG, we are pleased to see the Place des Arts announce the restoration of the Édifice des Théâtres building in downtown Montreal. Originally designed by architects David, Barott, and Boulva for Expo 67, the EDT was part of the sweeping urban renewal movement that transformed downtown Montréal. Envisioned under Mayor Jean Drapeau, it is now recognized as one of the most significant examples of Brutalist architecture in Montréal’s architectural heritage. The Theatre Building also stands out as one of the first in Québec to adopt an exterior concrete cladding. Completed in just 11 months, it is distinguished by its monumental form, iconic whiteness and some 600 prefabricated concrete panels — an expressive, unapologetic use of concrete. Carried out with respect for its brutalist architecture, the intervention will strengthen the building’s relationship with the public realm, ensure its longevity and improve its energy performance significantly. QUARTIER DES LUMIÈRES — L’achèvement des travaux de démolition marque une avancée importante pour ce grand projet montréalais. Cette étape préparatoire a permis la revalorisation d’au moins 70 % de la masse des matériaux issus de la démolition. Elle ouvre désormais la voie à la première phase de construction de ce futur milieu de vie. / QUARTIER DES LUMIÈRES — A major milestone has been reached for this Montréal project with the completion of demolition at the Quartier des Lumières site. Through careful planning and material recovery, over 70% of demolition materials have been diverted and repurposed. CONSTRUIRE EN BOIS, UNE ÉTUDE DE CAS - Comment rendre la construction bois multirésidentielle performante, conforme et économiquement viable? C’est l’angle du retour d’expérience du projet ANDAS, présenté par Hugo Gagnon, lead designer et architecte associé ainsi que Sara-Jeanne Dagenais, conceptrice et chargée de projet dans le cadre des Conférences Cecobois.   ANDAS a mis à l’épreuve des solutions concrètes, notamment des approches hybrides conformes aux normes, tout en gardant en tête une question centrale : peut-on reproduire ce modèle à plus grande échelle?   Ce fut une discussion ancrée dans la pratique dans le but d’encourager la construction en bois au Québec. A MILESTONE AT ZIBI — The topping-off ceremony last week marked an important step in the development of Zibi, a 34-acre waterfront community connecting Ottawa and Gatineau. For more than four years, NEUF has contributed to this project by designing two buildings, one in Ottawa and the other in Gatineau, as part of the broader vision and master plan for this cross-provincial site led by DREAM and Perkins&Will. Zibi is notable for achieving the first zero-carbon district energy system, which captures post-industrial waste heat, draws cooling from the Ottawa River, and uses clean electricity from Hydro-Québec to efficiently serve multiple buildings. As construction continues in phases, we are pleased to see our work take shape within Canada’s One Planet Living community — another first — a benchmark for future large-scale, forward-thinking developments.
