In the past three months, 27 students in seven McInnes Cooper offices organized a dozen community impact projects that generated more than $20K for important causes and valued partners. There were softball and volleyball tournaments; lawn bowling and golf putting; trivia and micro challenges; raffles and donation drives, all in service of community. Two weeks ago, we joined legal professionals from across the country at Prisme Conference 2026, Canada's annual 2SLGBTQ+ law conference, hosted right here in Halifax. We're proud to support the Canadian Association of LGBTQ2S+ Lawyers/Association canadienne des avocat.e.s LGBTQ2S+ (Call-Acal) in building an inclusive space to connect, learn, and advance 2SLGBTQ+ rights in the legal profession and beyond. A special shout-out to our colleagues Josie Hunt, Keilani Tupper, and Nathan Stanley, who all presented at this year's conference. 👏

Congratulations to Kim Collier on joining the Board of Directors of MAGMA-AMGM (Multicultural Agency of the Greater Moncton Area). For more than 40 years, MAGMA has helped newcomers build successful lives and a sense of belonging in Southeastern New Brunswick through settlement, integration, language, and community services. Celebrating our Make Change Champion for August: Charlottetown lawyer Ceili Randall! When Ceili joined McInnes Cooper as a law student in 2021, she already had a long resume of community service with organizations such as the London Food Bank, Matthews House Hospice, the London Public Library, and the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging. At McInnes Cooper, Ceili has been broadly involved in community service by running student events, serving on the local Collective Social Responsibility (CSR) committee, and leading key initiatives, particularly those that create opportunities for marginalized youth, such as Camp Triumph, KidSport PEI, motionball for Special Olympics, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI. She is also passionate about health, wellbeing & safety, supporting causes such as Alzheimer Society of PEI, Blooming House Shelter for Women, and the CNIB. Most notably, Ceili serves as our Canadian Blood Services #PartnersForLife Campion in PEI, where she recently set an McInnes Cooper record by recruiting a quarter of the office to donate together! Please join us in commending Ceili on her commitment to volunteer service!
