I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the Alberta Energy Efficiency and Innovation Summit on April 28–29 in Calgary. Through my work at ecobee, I’ve seen how well‑designed DR and DSM programs can turn everyday homes into flexible grid resources. In this session, I’ll share what’s working elsewhere, what we’re learning along the way, and how those lessons can translate to Alberta as its approach to grid flexibility continues to evolve. Looking forward to connecting in Calgary. Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance SSRIA

Everyday homes are powering the future of energy. A new independent evaluation from Demand Side Analytics, LLC reports that ecobee’s new Grid Resiliency service delivered 108 megawatts of critical capacity during the summer 2025 peak demand season. This demonstrates the potential to unlock 2.8 gigawatts of capacity across the U.S. and Canada, helping grids manage increasing strain from extreme weather and rising electricity demand, and goes to show small energy adjustments can drive big change. “Deploying virtual power plants is one of the fastest ways to meet near-term reliability and affordability challenges in the U.S. power system. Anything that simplifies customer enrollment is a powerful ‘unlock’ to make sure more of the devices already in our homes are used to support the grid.” - Lauren Shwisberg, Principal in the Electricity program at RMI. For more details, visit our press release and read the full report. Together, we can create a more sustainable and resilient energy future. https://lnkd.in/e_mV4SVT
