Are we still treating risks as individual challenges? One of the themes I found most interesting in our Corporate Risk Radar 2026 is the growing recognition that risks don't operate in silos. Organisations are becoming more confident in their risk management capabilities, thanks to investment in governance, technology and oversight. But the reality is that today's risks are increasingly connected. A regulatory change can create global implications. Geopolitical tensions can affect everything from supply chains to workforce planning. Technology risks rarely stay within the technology function. Success will depend not just on identifying individual risks, but on understanding how they interact, overlap and amplify one another. I was delighted to contribute to this year’s report. Worth a read for anyone thinking about the challenges and opportunities ahead: https://lnkd.in/dMh9FdYy Clyde & Co

Welcome aboard, Andrew 👋

  • 🍁As a Vancouver native, being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2013 marked the beginning of a career that has been shaped by incredible mentors, colleagues, and clients. My name is Lindsay Williams and over the past five years in Clyde & Co's Vancouver office—following our office integration—I’ve had the opportunity to build a practice I’m truly passionate about, now as a partner at Clyde. As part of our Trial & Defense team, I focus on insurance defense litigation, with an emphasis on complex casualty claims and professional liability. My work spans a broad range of matters, including occupier’s liability, social and commercial host liability, product liability, and personal injury litigation, along with construction deficiency, employment-related issues, and property damage claims. I take a practical, results-oriented approach and enjoy working closely with clients to help them navigate risk and resolve challenging disputes. What has made this journey particularly meaningful is the culture at Clyde & Co. We have a strong reputation in the industry, but it’s truly our people and shared values that set us apart. The collegiality, collaboration, and commitment to excellence here are incredibly important to me. Beyond my client work, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and student programs—areas I care deeply about, especially when it comes to supporting and mentoring the next generation of legal talent. I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues and clients, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the strength of our Vancouver team and the firm as a whole in this next chapter 📚

  • As investment in aviation infrastructure accelerates across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, we are continuing to strengthen our global aviation platform ✈️ We are delighted to welcome Nicholas Humphrey back to Clyde & Co as a partner in our Dubai office. Nick brings more than 20 years' experience advising airlines, airports, insurers and transport sector clients across the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Australia. His return represents a significant investment in our aviation capabilities across the region and supports our ambition to provide clients with a more integrated, full-service offering in key growth markets. Kevin Sutherland, Partner, Chair of Global Practice Groups and Global Head of Aviation, comments: "This hire reflects the firm’s longer term growth strategy in the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, where aviation market expansion is forecast to outpace more mature regions such as Europe and North America. Alongside our global and regional practice, Nick is ideally placed to unlock significant potential, assisting global and local clients as they take advantage of this market growth." peter hodgins, Partner and Chair of Clyde & Co's Middle East and Africa Board, said: “I am delighted to welcome Nick to the team. The region continues to attract significant investment in airlines and airport infrastructure, driving demand for sophisticated legal advice across the sector.” Nick adds: "I look forward to working with the firm’s global practice and leverage its Middle East presence to assist local and regional clients as they capitalise on the expanding aviation markets while navigating the complex, and rapidly evolving, global environment." There is significant momentum in the sector, driven by major infrastructure investment, evolving regulatory frameworks and the emergence of new aviation hubs. I look forward to supporting clients as they navigate this growth and the increasingly complex legal landscape that comes with it." Welcome back to Clyde & Co, Nick.

“To Risk or not to risk..that is the question..” In a summer that follows a year of complex decisions for any organization across the globe, some people prefer to indulge in entertainment and distractions, however others (guess who is in such category?), take this end of July as an opportunity to reflect on what the events and circumstances that have changed our world imply so we can manage and learn from them.. The more complex organisations become, the harder it is to separate operational, technology and people risks. A new system rollout, for example, can affect teams, processes, budgets and often wider transformation programmes happening at the same time. Resilience should be less about managing individual risks and more about understanding the connections between them. When one part of a business changes, there's usually a knock-on effect somewhere else. The challenge for leaders is maintaining that broader view while still moving the business forward. It's an area explored in Clyde & Co Corporate Risk Radar 2026, where business leaders identified technology implementation, skills shortages and transformation delivery as some of the most significant operational challenges facing organisations today. Download it here and let me know what you think: https://lnkd.in/dWzxYpzc
