Halloween Fun

2026 HALLOWEEN FUN AT BROADDITCH

Halloween is going to look a little different at Broadditch this year.

As a working farm, our crops are grown naturally using rainfall rather than irrigation, which means we are very much at the mercy of the British weather. Unfortunately, the exceptionally dry conditions and lack of rainfall this year have had a significant impact on our pumpkin crop.

In a normal year, we grow around 20,000 pumpkins ready for our October events. This year, we’re expecting a crop of only around 1,500 pumpkins, along with our squash.

After a lot of thought, we’ve therefore made the difficult decision not to open our Pick Your Own Pumpkin field this October. We simply don’t want to take the risk of welcoming families to the farm, only for there not to be enough pumpkins for everyone to enjoy the experience.

BUT HALLOWEEN AT BROADDITCH ISN’T CANCELLED!

We will still be celebrating Halloween at Broadditch this October, just a little differently!

NEW FOR 2026 – THE LITTLE FRIGHTS TRAIL!

This Halloween, we’re introducing our brand-new Little Frights Trail, an indoor Halloween experience created especially for our younger visitors, running from Saturday 24th to Saturday 31st October, 10am–4pm daily.

Make your way through a series of fun, spooky Halloween scenes, with skeletons, pumpkins, scarecrows and plenty of surprises to discover along the way. There’ll be a few little frights, but nothing too terrifying – just the right amount of spooky fun for younger children!

No pre-booking required – simply pay on the day.

Our Pumpkin Carving Workshops are back!

Our Pumpkin Carving Workshops will be running from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th October, priced at £7.50 per person, including your pumpkin.

Love pumpkin carving but not so keen on the mess afterwards? Then this one’s for you! We’ll provide everything you need – simply come along, get creative and take your masterpiece home. Best of all, you can leave all the seeds, stringy bits and mess behind for us to clear up!

Pre-booking is essential for our Pumpkin Carving Workshops.

Our homegrown pumpkins and squash will also still be available to buy from the farm, so there will still be plenty of autumn colour at Broadditch this October.

Our popular Spooky Trailer Ride will also be taking a break this year. The ride has always been very much part of the whole pumpkin picking experience, starting from the pumpkin field. Without the Pick Your Own event taking place, it simply isn’t viable for us to run it in the usual way.

We know this will be disappointing news for many of you who visit us every October, and we’re disappointed too. Unfortunately, we’re not alone, with farms and pumpkin growers across the country facing similar challenges after such a difficult growing season.

This is very much just a break for 2026, not the end of our traditional Broadditch Halloween events. All being well with next year’s growing season, we very much hope to see our Pick Your Own Pumpkin field and Spooky Trailer Ride return for Halloween 2027.

Thank you, as always, for supporting our family farm and for understanding that sometimes Mother Nature has other plans!
