OG Princess Leia Approves
This is my 5th time purchasing a Slave 1 set and this one so far has been my favorite. I had the First Jango Slave 1, the First Boba Slave 1 and several of the mini and micro polybag versions. This is one of my favorite ships and the shape and feel of this version is so close to the actual ship I think LEGO have outdone themselves. I do not have the UCS set, but i am very tempted to track it down now that I have built this version consisting of lots of Technic support structures underneath SNOT Panels and I think they nailed the shape and angles perfectly here.
I love the rich color scheme here with Dark Red, and Dark Green, Sand Green and Grey pieces. The Cockpit and wing rotation mechanism worried me as I constructed it, but the effect is gravity driven and the wings are very stable with this model which I cannot say the same about the first two I owned.
Minifigs are great and we get one of the Bounty Hunters we have not gotten before. I would highly recommend this set, especailly if you have not purchased the UCS set or if you missed out on the last one that utilized the big volkswagon wheel humps.
Happy Building, Yall.

Perks of Working at a LEGO STORE
I love this set. I worked at an LBR during the holidays of 2011. I enjoyed working there so much and helped so many people find the right sets for their loved ones and for themselves. LEGO is a great employer and thanks their employees with unique building sets for those who survive the Christmas Spirit.
Box/Instructions
This box is just like the architect series and the booklet is the same quality. It tells the story of how LEGO began as a furniture company who began making toys during the great depression. People stopped buying furniture but everyone wanted to buy a toy for their kid. And this Wooden Duck was produced and sold out almost immediately. Read up on it if you have never heard the tale.
Parts
The parts are pretty basic, but they capture the look of the original wooden duck very well.
The build
The build is quick but still has some clever techniques.
The completed model
It is a great, odd display model that immediately starts up the conversation about where it came from.
Overall opinion
I have a great fondness for this set and will always remember it as the best corporate Christmas gift of all time.

Evidence we are not alone.....again.
Got this little guy in person at my local LEGO Retail Store. As soon as he was announced, I marked my calendar. I have loved the Zen like, peaceful character of J'on J'onnz since first seeing him in the Justice League cartoons. I am not an avid comic reader, but I do enjoy seeing Superheroes on screen. His Smallville iteration was impressive as well and I cannot wait to see him make an appearance in the DC Movies.
Box/Instructions
I tore the bag open with ease.
Parts
He was all there. The cape is a great color and I don't mind the new 52 design. He is a great addition my LEGO Justice League. The quality is great and I think we can all agree that DC sets and Characters are in huge demand.
Overall opinion
If you missed him, grab him quickly on the second hand market. I hope he shows up in a set later. We are going to need a Daily Planet, Fortress of Solitude, Wayne Manor, Gotham Museum of Technology and Science, and a Justice League Satellite Headquarters. I think we still need the following villains; Gorilla Grod (hulk style Figure), Braniac, Black Manta, Dark Seid, Doomsday, Sinestro and Metallo.
There is so much material to draw from with DC and I hope we get years and years worth of sets.

Zoom, zoom, zoom!
I received this set for Christmas from my wife and it was a big surprise as I had not seen it yet on any of my Target or LEGO Store trips. It was wrapped in a nice red wrapping paper that came free with LEGO Store purchases. Thank you LEGO Store.
Pros
- The overall set is a great idea and a fun concept. It feels less like a getaway chase and more like a round of Mario Kart. I love the Batster (which is my name for a Batmobile roadster). The Drag Riddler is cute but could have been an even cooler Ratrod type vehicle with only a few parts being swapped out. I feel like DC villain vehicles need to be as heavily decorated and modified as their drivers tend to be.
- Building the set was fun as most of the bat mobiles have been. I think there is a need for a bat vehicle with a trans light blue canopy.
- I love the FLASH! Anytime we get Justice League Characters thrown into batman sets, I am a happy camper. I think there was a missed opportunity to include a Bright Red with Yellow Highlights Speedorz Piece for Flash to blast past Bats and Riddler to win the race. I really hope to see more JLA characters in upcoming sets. We need a Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and about a hundred other pretty awesome mini figures. The new Batman design is fantastic and is a nice change to the 90's Keaton we keep getting in DC sets.
Cons
- Riddler Dragster is a little puny.
I say this is a must buy. The Flash figure alone is worth the price and getting new Batman and new Riddler designs are a bonus.

Fun build.
I am a LEGO Store Employee and we love our building events. Getting to help young builders put these mini builds together is one of the best parts of my job. I really like the techniques that the last few have used and this one in particular has some great pieces and surprising twists. Another employee and I like to challenge ourselves by building these while they're still sealed in the bag. I beat him this month and look forward to our next event. See you folks on the next First Tuesday.
