Nice! Doesn't seem too bad for the early '90s, IMO.
Wow that’s pretty good.
Looks like the boat on top is surfing in the sky instead of on the water.
This wasn't the pinnacle of Model Team back then, but the color scheme was great. I wonder why Lego didn't revive the Model Team name with the Creator Expert cars? It'd be a pretty easy division of branding. Creator Expert would still exist but specifically be for detailed, large piece-count buildings and structures that still adhered to minifigure scale. And Model Team could just be the large vehicles like the cars, planes, and even boats.
ALWAYS wanted this one. College roommate had it. I’d still take it!
Hey Lego, I would buy this.
The best LEGO sea jet? I think so.
Although I also think that the nose could've been smoother and neater.
I thought this is a Town set
It's amazing what they achieved using the parts available at the time.
I have that one. Engine construction of model A was preaty neat for it's time.
That's a really hot looking boat.
Nice set! Just 1 year younger than me! :-D
It's a great model of a boat. Very enjoyable, as most Model Team sets
Those colored stripes on the back are amazingly smooth and flush for 1993. Great design!
Sadly the stickers are peeled off... I also have the 5580 Truck and I wanted to make a trailer for this set for ages. Never had enough pieces. I still have them built. Maybe some day...
M O D E L T E A M !
Okay, I honestly don't care for this particular set all that much, but the cars were awesome.
Model Team at its best. I have most of them and this particular set is truly amaizing, still the most beautiful LEGO sea jet model out there. I have 5580 from my childhood and after I purchased this jet my first thing was to bulid a trailer for it. They looked as they have always been designed to each other.
Seen this set in many catalogs along with the off road vehicle and helicopter trucks of the 90s Model Team.
This was like the 90s version of Creator big vehicles.
I win a bid on ebay of this set about September (MiSB). I'm a fan of Model Team. Unfortunately Model Team MiSBs are much expensive now, than in 90's :(
...Why is the US retail price so weirdly specific? $36.5?
In college, a friend got this and another set for me as birthday presents. He got them both on clearance. I don't remember the cost of this one, but the other one was $15. That one was 6286: Skull's Eye Schooner. Still one of my favorite sets. I'm very fond of this set as well.
I bought this one back in the day... It's meh. Lots of other Model Team sets are more memorable.
I recently sold off my complete Model Team collection with a few duplicate sets still sealed.
