Random set of the day: Amusement Park
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 3681 Amusement Park, released during 1985. It's one of 17 Fabuland sets produced that year. It contains 99 pieces and 4 minifigs, and its retail price was US$33.35.
It's owned by 329 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $564.60, or eBay.

It may look innocent enough, but they find amusement in torture and pain. Look at those cold and unfeeling eyes. Diabolical.
Actually, you know what? I'm trying too hard to keep this bit going for all these years. Just let the silly animals do their silly animal things.
Coming not long after 40506's reveal!
Why do Li'ella, Furty, Bladvic and Gorzan look so weird?
That Ferris wheel setup is fantastic.

Just let the silly animals do their silly animal things = Chima
Yay! Happy animals!
Five 'bucks' for this?!?!...Must be a 'Dismal' operation.:)
People knock Fabuland, but I do still see it's 'charm', and still kinda wish a...more proper version of it would come back; probably with proper minifig (molded heads and such). 'Cept now there's 'Animal Crossing' so there'd be brand-confusion...Still, and be honest: I'm not the only one who'd like to see the brick-built F.L. figures 'march' on an A.C. village...No?:D
Anybody know if this is the set that flashes on-screen real quick in The LEGO Movie when Wyldstyle's going through all of the random themes, or is it a different one?
There are carnivorous monkeys, yes? Did they already eat?

The Fabuland conspiracy lives on.
Oh yes, such a lovely set. Yet, another day for me to regret not grabbing couple of these cutesies.

Thx!
Baseplate! Yes!
I'm concerned there's no platform for those carriages in the Ferris wheel. You have to clamber into one when you're boarding and leap out when you're done, that must breach health and safety standards even in Fabuland

Aaaaaand there's a reason for that.
I like the local currency.
STAMPs! H*ly sh*t!
Is there some secret society where you all raise your left hand to signal your agreement to something to sinister to mention, or maybe just want to go first on the next ride. I remember this from pre-school days trying to see if we could get the Ferris wheel to spin fast enough, while taking bets on which of the 4 animals would be thrown out first, which was more difficult than you think.
To this day I find the builds for stalls using chest pieces a NPU!
Ooh, Animal Crossing!
...oh, right.
Nice but I prefer remake 5525.
MR. WIGGIN: Good morning, gentlemen. Uh, this is a twelve-storey block combining classical neo-Georgian features with all the advantages of modern design. Uhh, the tenants arrive in the entrance hall here, are carried along the corridor on a conveyor belt in extreme comfort and past murals depicting Mediterranean scenes, towards the rotating knives. The last twenty feet of the corridor are heavily soundproofed. The blood pours down these chutes and the mangled flesh slurps into these large containers--
CITY GENT 1: Excuse me.
MR. WIGGIN: Hmm?
CITY GENT 1: Uh, did you say 'knives'?
MR. WIGGIN: Uh, rotating knives. Yes.
Before Happy Tree Friends there was Fabuland.

Now there’s a license that we’ll never, ever, ever see come out of Billund. Probably.
I's so vertical. The layout looks great! And I love the colors on fabuland buildings. It would normally be gaudy, but they make it work :)
I remember playing with a friend reimagining this set into an alternative fortress for the Black Falcons to give them a bigger keep against the lion castle knights. Just swapping the Fabula figures with the Black Falcons minifigs and done. Seems stupid nowadays but then it was the best idea, just fabulous!
Hahahaaa finally RSOTD!! Probably my first LEGO set ever! Like really 'first EVER'. Nothing but good memories.
For the people here who know Dutch:
featuring: Jos de Vos, Katrien de Kat, Jaap de Aap én Valeer de Wasbeer

He finally sobered up.
