Congrats to our co-CEO Ted Sarandos on his induction into the 28th Television Academy Hall of Fame! In an evening honoring those who have shaped and defined television, Ted was recognized alongside a remarkable class of honorees: Ted Danson, Jean Smart, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Sheila Nevins, and the late Ed Bradley. For over 25 years, Ted has championed bold storytelling and redefined how stories reach audiences around the world. In a speech accepting this recognition, Ted traced it all back to a childhood spent glued to the TV, and shared that at the end of the day, he's still just a fan. Here's to you, Ted.

Los Angeles isn't just where Netflix shoots. Whether you're a comedy nerd, a thrill seeker, a sports fanatic or a drama lover, you've probably noticed one recurring star that keeps popping up on Netflix: Los Angeles. Since 2018, more than 300 Netflix productions have filmed primarily in LA. In 2025 alone, 45+ productions rolled cameras there, working with 2,900+ local businesses and contributing over $400M to the local economy. So far in 2026, we already have 45+ productions confirmed to film primarily in LA, with more to come. We're investing further and keeping the city's creative economy working on stories that travel the globe. From Nemesis's 60+ LA locations to The Rip's iconic Downtown backdrops to The Hawk's sprawling country clubs, our shows and films capture the city's texture, neighborhoods and communities on screen. LA remains one of our core production hubs in the US. Its diverse locations, deep bench of talent, experienced crews and best-in-class vendors give us everything we need to bring ambitious stories to life, and we're committed to supporting the creative community that makes it all possible

Two weeks after the final whistle, we're still riding the high of FIFA World Cup 2026™. Across series, docs, and games, Netflix's football slate scored big alongside the tournament. Weekly views of our football titles jumped 250%+ in May vs. Jan–April. Ronaldinho: The One and Only spiked 34% in Brazil after his halftime cameo. Norway: The Dark Horse rode the underdogs' run to Norway's #1 spot — and stayed there. The Rest Is Football became a daily ritual for UK fans, and just got renewed. FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition was our #1 most-played game during the tournament, with play surging 40%+ post-final. The countdown to the 2027 Women's World Cup™ starts now!

A 13-year-old fan wrote a letter to the cast of RIV4LRIES. Netflix turned it into an episode. Hailé, from Toulouse, France, fell hard for the Italian series RIV4LRIES. She picked up a pen and wrote to the cast, sharing what the show meant to her. That letter became the foundation for a new extra episode, written with the show's own writers and filmed in her hometown. Cast members Kartika, Samuele, Joseph and Duccio showed up at her door to surprise her. Hailé appears in the episode herself. Her mom later wrote to us, thanking the team for pushing her daughter out of her comfort zone and giving her a memory she'll carry for life. Hailé sent a letter. RIV4LRIES sent back an episode. At Netflix, fandom isn't just something we watch happen. It's something we build with the people who love our shows. Streaming now on Netflix Italy Doposcuola YouTube.

At Cannes Lions, we asked fans, creators, and marketers what that feeling can look like for brands that show up where fandom lives. The answers showed that everyone's a fan of something. You know you're a fan when the next episode starts playing and you just can't help yourself: You text your friends at midnight. You have opinions for the writers. When a character dies, it actually hurts. That's the difference between someone who watches and someone who is a fan. What show has you fully in it right now? Read the full story below. 👇

Congrats to Bela, our Netflix Chief Content Officer and an inspiring leader! “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the International Academy, whose mission reflects everything I believe about what television can be,” said Bajaria. “The stories that have resonated most with audiences around the world are the ones rooted in a specific place, a specific truth — and what we have proven, over and over, is that authenticity travels. That is a gift I never take for granted, and I am so proud of the extraordinary creators and teams who make it possible every day.” As Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bajaria oversees a global content operation of extraordinary scale — reaching nearly one billion people in over 190 countries in more than 50 languages with more than 325 million members worldwide.
