H finished a story (and won a head teacher's award for it!) so as per my agreement with her, here it is up on the website. I have left the layout as is because she's so close to getting all the grammar etc correct that it seems churlish to correct her. It is, as always, all her own work. (And has had some extremely gratifying comments on Twitter.

Her class has been doing Greek myths, and before half term I went to her school play, which was also the story of Pandora's Box. The sight of half a dozen cute eight-year-olds dressed as eagles pecking the liver of Prometheus - who was dressed as an Oompa Loompa because it was also Roald Dahl day at school - was extremely memorable. Epic torture has never been so adorable.

I went to see the Tiger Lillies' Hamlet. It was beautiful, so I wrote about it.

Guest post: Fifty Shades of Grey reviewed by my straight male bloky-ish friend Joff, who is really not its target market. Very pleased because a) he is very funny and b) now I don't have to read it myself.

One Friday evening…..

Anthony heard a clanking sound, but he was so tired he couldn’t be bothered to get up and soon he was fast asleep. His last thought was the strange sound was coming from the kitchen.

As a matter of fact, the noise was coming from the kitchen. The cutlery from the kitchen drawer was just waking up.

A new Rosalind story

Detailed and thoughtful review of my novel All Lies and Jest by The Future Fire. Not all positive, but it's still good to have a proper independent review.

It has been a long day full of children (two of mine, plus one) and frankly, the long weekend has left me so tired I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

On the plus side, I had an idea about creating inspirational posters out of quotes from weird internet sites, starting with timecube.com, and it turned out to be really easy to do.
