Hello and welcome to my journal. I was going to call this "Birgitt's Garden", because it is intended to be extensively about gardening theory and practice, however my interests are far too ecclectic and diverse for me to promise to keep to one topic.

I wanted a place where I can share experiences from my garden and from my life with people from all areas of my life. This journal is meant to be extensively unlocked. That is pretty much anyone, anywhere can read what I post and comment on it.

How This Works: I'm going to assume that some of you who will be joining me don't, per se, understand how journals like this work, so here's a primer. I can make posts of text, pictures, youtube videos etc and you are welcome to comment on them by clicking 'Reply'. If you have a journal with Dreamwidth, your username will appear next to your comment. If you don't, you'll want to leave me a name so I know who I'm talking to. (First names only, please! Remember, the whole world is watching and I don't really want anyone tracing you to your doorstep.) I can then reply to your comment and you can reply and we can have a discussion in the comments section.

You can also converse with others who have commented to a post and share your own photos in the comments.

If you would like to get a free Dreamwidth account, I occasionally receive free invitation codes. Let me know and I can forward one to you.

Commenting Guidelines: This is meant to be an open journal, so I am not restricting commenting access. I do request that people be polite and respectful in their comments. I mention this only because I have seen much of what is commonly referred to as "wank" on other journals and it's not pretty...or fun.

Also, please don't say anything that you wouldn't want to get back to anyone else.

I would really like to keep commenting open, however, I can/will remove inappropriate comments. (So if you type something and later regret it, email me and I'll remove it for you.)

Okay, that's it for now. I imagine I will add to this from time to time as I think of more stuff.
