FYI, Zoom's security & privacy problems
Apr. 6th, 2020 08:02 amBruce Schneier wrote a detailed post on the various problems, calling Zoom's security and privacy a "disaster."
The Washington Post found "thousands of Zoom video calls left exposed on open web", for no apparent reason. These included: an elementary school session, with kids' faces and details available; a private therapy session; business meetings with confidential company info; and more. (via Schneier)
WFME/NPR: A Must For Millions, Zoom Has A Dark Side — And An FBI Warning.
Schneier and others recommend using Jitsi instead. Jitsi doesn't require downloading software if you're on a computer. (There are apps available for iOS and Android.) Jitsi is open source, secure, and free.
