  • More than 7,000 rare diseases have been identified worldwide but fewer than 5% have an approved treatment. For most patients, that means years of misdiagnosis, limited options and conditions that are not well understood, even by specialists. One of the core challenges is biology itself. Some diseases are simply too hard to reach. The brain, for example, is protected by a barrier so selective that most therapies cannot cross it. That is the problem our Blood-Brain Barrier Shuttle technology is designed to solve by delivering treatments directly to the brain in a way that was not previously possible. It is one part of a broader effort to go after diseases that science has historically set aside. 👉 Read more about how Sanofi is approaching untreated rare diseases: http://spkl.io/60407ygx0 #RareDiseases #Neuroscience #PrecisionMedicine #Sanofi

For years, treating ITP (immune thrombocytopenia) meant one thing: raising platelet counts. But platelets are not the problem. They are the result of the problem. ITP is driven by a complex breakdown in immune regulation: multiple pathways, multiple mechanisms, all working against the body at once. That is why we believe ITP needs to be reframed. Not as a platelet disorder to be managed, but as an immune dysregulation disease to be understood at its root. 👉 Read more about how we are reframing disease control in ITP: http://spkl.io/60447ye4p #ITP #RareDiseases #Immunology #Sanofi #MedicalInnovation

  • Lung cancer remains one of the most underestimated diseases of our time. Symptoms are often missed, and a diagnosis comes too late. Today on World Lung Cancer Day, we want to highlight this disease. In Belgium alone, more than 9,400 people find out they have lung cancer each year. At Sanofi, our mission is broader than a single disease. We believe that good health starts with awareness, open conversations, and a clear commitment to science. Today, we stand with everyone affected by lung cancer. Patients, families and healthcare professionals who take care of them.💙 #WorldLungCancerDay #LungCancer #Sanofi #ChasingMiracles #BelgiumHealthcare

  • Behind every COPD diagnosis is a person navigating a long-term condition that affects every aspect of daily life. What the latest data tells us is that too many of them are doing so without adequate support. The 'In Need of Breathing space' report by Sanofi Belgium reveals a comprehensive picture of COPD care in our country: • 56% of patients find their care team is not working in a coordinated way • 50% of patients feel unheard in their treatment journey • A mere 18% say they are genuinely satisfied with their care, which is one of the lowest rates recorded across all countries studied These numbers reflect a structural challenge, one that requires coordinated action across the entire care continuum, from primary care to specialist follow-up. • COPD is a progressive chronic lung disease that affects more than breathing alone. For many people, one of the most limiting symptoms is fatigue, as breathing can require continuous extra effort, often compounded by poor sleep and exacerbations. This gradual loss of energy can have far-reaching consequences: daily activities may take more planning, work and social life can become harder to sustain, and quality of life may decline. At Sanofi, we are committed to supporting better care in chronic respiratory disease through research, evidence generation and awareness initiatives that reflect the full burden of COPD, including its impact on fatigue and everyday functioning. #COPD #LungHealth #Fatigue #ChronicDisease #PatientExperience #SanofiBelgium #Sanofi

  • How do we strengthen Belgium’s pharma valley for the next 10 to 20 years? On July 8, 2026, #Sanofi Belgium and Novartis Belux co-hosted an executive roundtable at the VIB site in Ghent to kick off the pharma.be On Tour of this year. This event brought together key stakeholders from across the entire value chain: including regulators, ministerial advisors, biotech entrepreneurs, investors and patient representatives. While Belgium retains exceptional scientific talent and a robust ecosystem, the latest indicators show that our competitive edge is under intensifying pressure. The consensus was clear: incremental changes are no longer enough. Belgium needs a long-term strategy now. Three priorities emerged from the roundtable: 1. The time for call to actions is over, it is time to act now! 2. Create a more attractive environment for biopharmaceutical innovation through streamlined regulation, from clinical trials to faster patient access. 3. Align Belgium's fragmented (pharmaceutical) policy landscape under a connected and coherent strategy for health and industry. Check out the perspectives from Bart Vermeulen, Kristof Van Emelen, Inge Van de Velde, Federico Mambretti, Griet Vanpoucke, Hugues Malonne and Caroline Ven in this after movie. Atopic dermatitis is more than “just eczema”. It’s a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects more than 250,000 people in Belgium, often with persistent itch, painful skin, sleep disruption and a real impact on mental wellbeing. At Sanofi, we want to change that by: • Advancing the science behind the disease, including the underlying immune pathways that drive inflammation • Developing targeted medicines designed to address key drivers of atopic dermatitis, not only the visible symptoms • Generating evidence through clinical research to better understand outcomes that matter to patients (like itch and sleep) • Collaborating with the healthcare community to support better disease awareness and care Discover more about the science and our approach: http://spkl.io/60487E4Mo #AtopicDermatitis #Immunology #Dermatology #ClinicalResearch #PatientFocused #Sanofi
