"I want a baby," Kise said apropos of nothing. "I want to carry it. And I want you to be the father."
It wasn't particularly uncommon for Jason to have to go radio silent for a job with the Outlaws. It was a little less common that he had to do so just for helping out with his 'family'. They were all mostly set up in Gotham, after all, and jobs with his family usually only lasted a few days with time to separate if it was needed. Which, it almost always was because they were a lot and Jason still wasn't entirely sure how he felt about working with them. They weren't all that sure about working with him, either.
So he hadn't bothered to let Adam know that he was going to be MIA when he'd met up with Tim to go over his case notes Monday night. He'd mentioned that he was going to be working with the Bats for a few days and he'd be cranky because of it, but he'd been intending on coming back Tuesday morning after patrol.
Instead, it was nearly noon on Thursday when he finally let himself into Adam's apartment. Even stranger, it was through the front door. Jason always preferred the windows, even in plain clothes when he could manage it. And he certainly wasn't usually quiet when he let himself in. He tended to call out as soon as he was inside, always eager to let his....boyfriend? Partner? They really needed to have that conversation. To let Adam know when he was home.
Instead, he simply toed off his boots and dropped the oversized duffle bag that contained his armor and helmet by the door before he just started quietly looking for Adam. And when he found him, he still didn't say anything. Just tucked himself in against the man's chest and pressed his ear over that strong, rhythmic heartbeat.

Adam didn't usually bother Jason when he was not at the apartment. After all, they'd gone weeks between seeing one another when he lived in the waterways. But something felt wrong.
Tuesday came and went, then Wednesday. He was resolving to go out that night to look for him, or at least confirm someone had seen the Red Hood, when in came.
Through the door.
He was on his feet and over to Jason in very few strides, saying nothing in return, drawing him into his arms and clutching the back of his head as he held him and drew a shuddering breath.
After a moment he asked, "Are...you injured?" usually a long job meant he'd come back to him sporting a new wound for him to patch up, or take a look at whatever hack job he'd tried to do himself.

A lot had changed since Adam had moved from the waterways to the apartment. Jason hadn't exactly met him by demanding physical affection when he'd been living in the waterways. Nor had he ever wrapped his arms around his middle and just...held him.
It wasn't particularly normal for them even now, yet he still did it. Shook his head a little at the question, then stopped and huffed out a bitter sounding laugh before giving one, single nod. He was injured. He'd just forgotten in the wake of everything else that had happened.
"I'm okay. Just some stitches and a mild concussion. Building collapsed." His voice sounded a little ragged, not hoarse but like he could get hoarse if he wasn't careful. Inhaling cement and plaster dust did that...but then, so did rage screaming at walls. He'd done both, so who really knew what the cause was.
"Batman dug me out. Took me to the cave for tests. I... we should sit." He didn't move, though.

Adam held him a bit tighter at the news. He hated how he went on these missions without him. He wanted to protect the man, ensure he didn't get hurt, let alone almost buried alive. But he knew what he did going into allowing him close, and he knew he had to respect it and not force himself into everything Jason did.
The Bat took care of him, somehow made him bristle, jealous that he got to him...but, he was also grateful.
"Tests?" he asked, brow creasing. He assumed to check up on him after a building came down on him...but Jason sounded strange.
Adam drew him over to the couch, "What's wrong love?" he asked as he sat, pulling Jason to his side, entwining their fingers. There was a myriad of things that could come up in a test that would warrant such a somber tone. Cancer topped the list. He prepared for the worst.

He let himself be taken to the couch, a sigh leaving his lips as he followed Adam onto it. Without the burden of having to keep himself upright, he sank a little deeper into the other man's arms, his eyes closing as he tucked his legs up under himself. Like he wanted to be smaller, wanted to make himself easier to miss somehow. It was as much a defensive posture as when he crossed his arms over his chest or chose not to take his helmet off during a conversation.
How the fuck did he talk about this?
How the fuck did this even happen? He'd heard the story, but he still couldn't believe it. Even with the evidence that Alfred had printed out and quietly handed to him after Bruce had finally gotten done lecturing him.
"I...You remember how I used to get randomly crampy and nauseous?"

Adam let him take all the time he needed, stroking his hair or his arm, holding him close.
It must be bad if the man was curled up like this, it unnerved him as he rarely saw it even though he'd come to be far more relaxed around him.
At the question, he nodded with a grunt. "Yes...I remember." He'd pushed Jason into trying to get some tests done, but with the gala, there had been too many distractions, and left the matter lie.

Kuroko looks up in surprise. Even on his usually rather passive expression it's clear. "What?"
"I want a baby. And I want Kurokocchi to be the dad." He looked at Kuroko from across the cafe table. "So? Are you interested?"
