Merry Christmas! The family part of Christmas is actually over for me already, so here I bring you the last batch of Christmas scans. Since they're Lex scans, the message of cheer and love is somewhat... um... lacking in all the good, loving parts. But there's cheer. Evil cheer.

The next batch of Lex scans for attaccabottoni! Last time, we had Lex's presidency. We'll go on with "52" scans, from the year after the Infinite Crisis, but if you need to catch up on IC, I posted scans and a Lex centric explanation HERE

Short recap: in the lead up to Infinite Crisis, and the crisis itself, the multiverse was restored, Blue Beetle was killed by Max Lord, which led to Wonder Woman breaking his neck on national television. Bad PR move! The JL broke up, because someone thought it a good idea to brainwash Batman alongside a couple of villains, and Batman in turn thought it a good idea to spy on everyone and build evil robots. Then Superboy Prime and Alexander Luthor Junior did evil things, like killing Kon-El, and almost destroyed the world. In conclusion: stuff happened, and no one was happy.

In 52, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are gone after the Crisis. Superman has temporarily lost his powers, so he's now full-time Clark Kent. At first, this leaves Metropolis in the not terribly capable (back then! he kicks ass now!) hands of Booster Gold.

Lex, meanwhile, has recovered from his Crisis-induced madness, and while he has lost the presidency and his clone son Kon-El, he is back in great, villainous form. The fact that Superman is gone doesn't deter him in the least, because...

Last time, we saw the beginning of the end for Lex's presidency: a scheme that resulted in Superman and Batman being declared enemy of state. Captain Atom and a bunch of other supers are out hunting them, while Lex is taking a strength and craziness-enhancing substance.

Here comes the second installment of Lex scans for the holidays (btw, is there a muslim equivalent of Christmas, or a different holiday celebrated around that time? Or is it just Christmas and Hanukah?), and for attaccabottoni in particular.

This time, there are scans from Young Justice and Superman/Batman, with pre-President Lex and President Lex.

On attaccabottoni's Christmas Wishlist I saw that she wishes for Lex comic scans! This is something I can supply. A lot of the comics I myself own are in German, so the scans here weren't scanned by me, but uploading is hard work, too!

I've decided to make a post every weekend until Christmas, so that's five posts, starting today.

Today's Lex scans are from a random Elseworlds comic titled "Age of Wonder", which is indeed pretty wonderful. It's a historical AU in which members of the JLA/JSA are all scientists or inventors. Among the intial group of science heroes are also Nicola Tesla and Lex Luthor.

Lex's story doesn't stop here, but from there on it's just generic evil Lex, so I didn't include that. For JLA/JSA fans, or fans of science and good comics, this rest is still awesome, though!

I mentioned this yesterday when I posted the first chapter of my new WIP "The Light and The Silence" and promised scans of. It's an Elseworlds Superman story, but with additional Batman. Sadly, it is also from the nineties.

Plot: "I'm a little matter-of-fact about planning the genocide of my race..."
Art: The Nineties. Do not click if you fear Leprechaun!Lex and grinning Batman.
Fashion: This makes Superman's suit look very fashionable.
Narrator: Shut up
Dialogue: Snarky!Lex for the win.

The whole thing makes very little sense, but it makes up for it by having a non-evil Lex. Which is a true rarity. I think the equation goes like this:

Superman + Peaceful times = evil Lex
No Superman= 50/50 evil/good Lex
Superman + Alien invasion = good Lex + team-up

So all Smallville needs is an alien invasion.

As you can see, this story has inspired my fic quite a bit. The Kents as servants to Kal or the Els (I don't know which), Kryptonian fashion, the invasion, Bruce as terrorist. However cool this Lex was, though, he has pretty little to do with the Lex in my fic and neither has the plot.

So xparrot and gnine asked for a Ninja/Pirate AU fic. And this got me to "researching" Ninjas (which consisted of reading related wikipedia articles and watching exactly one episode of the anime Naruto on a day I spent sick at home, which didn't overwhelm me exactly. I'm definitely not into anime anymore.)

Anyways, I got as far as thinking: if Clark were a Ninja, his given Japanese name would be Hoshi (meaning "star", one of the few words of Japanese I know. I can say "Good morning/evening, my name is N., I am German. Are you Japanese?" "sorry" "thank you" "I love you" and "What is this?", as well as assorted useless words like "star", "darkness", "delicious", "boyfriend" etc.)

And then, in the depths of memory, something stirred. Huh. Ninja Clark. I read this before somewhere... I looked closely at my harddrive.

I found the crack.

DC was there before me. I present you therefore the JLA as Ninjas Elseworlds, complete with Clark as a pretty ninja and the most Superman/Batman text you've seen since The Authority:

Now wasn't that a nice story? It didn't have pirates, but otherwise, what more could you want?

If you guys ever needed proof that comics are awesome, here's it, ganked from scans_daily. Superman to Lana Lang, but Clark could say the exact same thing to Lana on the show and everyone would rejoice!

I just thought SV fandom needed this. I hope tonight's finale is awesome. Hope dies last, okay? I haven't got to watch it until tomorrow!

Since I'm bored and still not able to do anything productive, I'm going to spam you all with comic scans to take on the herculean task of explaining Infinite Crisis, with a shameless focus on Lex. On two Lexes, actually, because there are two of them in IC.
