データベース (DB) について、どのように勉強していますか？ MySQLやPostgreSQL等の具体的なデータベース管理システム (DBMS) の仕様、効率的なSQLの書き方、あるいはスキーマ設計のベストプラクティス等の「DBの使い方」を教える技術書は、たくさん見かけます。そういった本を読んだことのある方は多いでしょう。 一方で、より普遍的な「DBの仕組み」に関して、勉強したことのある方は少ないのではないでしょうか？ DBの内部実装を解説する本は、日本語で読めるものだと『詳説データベース』くらいしか思い浮かびません。ただ、この本は結構難易度が高く、手軽に読めるものでもありません (※今回紹介する講義を先に見ておくと、非常に読みやすくなります)。 そこで私がお勧めしたいのは、カーネギーメロン大学の有名講義『CMU Intro to Database Systems』です。YouTubeに
