We're looking to learn from the people at the heart of mining operations. Supervisors play a critical role in shaping workplace culture, safety and wellbeing, yet their experiences are not always captured in research. MARS Centre PhD researcher Neil James is inviting WA mining supervisors to share their perspectives in a confidential interview study. The insights gathered will help build a better understanding of the challenges supervisors face and the factors that support safe and healthy work. 🚨 What helps mining supervisors keep their teams safe when pressure, uncertainty and competing priorities are at their highest? Details: https://shorturl.at/B3DFR. That's the question Neil James, a researcher at Edith Cowan University, is investigating in partnership with the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) and the Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Centre. The research focuses on WA and recognises the vital role supervisors play in balancing safety, production, people leadership and the many competing demands of the job. We are encouraging mining supervisors to participate in a confidential one-on-one interview (~45 minutes). There are no right or wrong answers. Capturing the on-ground experiences of workplace culture, leadership, workplace pressures, and what helps keep people safe and well is what we need to learn. Why participate? ✅ Help shape future research and industry understanding of psychosocial safety ✅ Share practical insights from the frontline ✅ Contribute to safer, healthier workplaces across the mining sector A few important points: ✅ Your participation is completely confidential and de-identified. ✅ No information will be shared with your employer, colleagues or any mining company. ✅ The ECU Human Research Ethics Committee has cleared this research. ✅ Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time before analysis begins. ✅ This research is entirely independent of any mining company. If you're a WA mining supervisor, please register to participate here: https://shorturl.at/B3DFR. If you know someone who is a WA mining supervisor, or an organisation interested in promoting this, we would greatly appreciate your support.
