Chamber Members Laing O'Rourke and Amentum Australia have been appointed Capability Partners by Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to strengthen delivery of the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard. Congratulations to Laing O'Rourke and Amentum on this joint venture and appointment. The news follows the Australian Government’s announcement of a further $4.6 billion equity investment in ANI to support continued delivery of the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard, bringing the Government’s total equity contribution in ANI to $8.5 billion for the project. Laing O’Rourke’s Managing Director – Australia, Mark Dimmock, said “This contract represents a defining moment for Australia’s defence industry. Being selected as Capability Partner affirms the trust placed in our people, our systems, and our long-standing commitment to Defence infrastructure and South Australia." When twin earthquakes struck Venezuela’s Caribbean coast last month, Amentum’s Forward Operating Location Base Operating Support (FOLBOS) team in Curaçao played a critical role in supporting disaster relief efforts. As the nearest large-scale operational airfield to the disaster zone, our team became the central hub for aid distribution, search-and-rescue efforts, and recovery missions—scaling up to accommodate nine aircraft and over 200 deployed personnel. “Our usual mission supports U.S. Air Force and Southern Command counter narcotics operations.
