After 47 years at Central Adelaide Janine has retired from nursing. She started at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1979, later training in mental health at Glenside and spending 10 years running group programs at the Repat Health Precinct. For the past 20 years, she led the Western Perinatal Support Program, supporting mothers experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression to build stronger wellbeing and healthier family relationships. Her work made a real difference to hundreds of women, infants and families, and helped bring in standardised clinical data, proven results, and federal funding for the program. Along the way, Janine also worked in midwifery and general nursing, spent 3 years supporting eating disorder patients at Flinders Medical Centre, and worked in consultation-liaison psychiatry and Hospital in the Home, helping patients recover at home instead of in hospital. Janine's warmth and kindness have meant a lot to colleagues and patients alike. Her career shows just how far nursing skill and dedication can go. Thank you, Janine, for your outstanding contribution - we wish you a happy, well-deserved retirement.
