What would change in psychiatry if we spent less time documenting and more time actually present with our patients? 🤔 On Tuesday, August 11 at 2 PM ET, I’ll be joining Elana Miller, MD for a Heidi Health panel: More Present, Better Care: What Leading Psychiatrists Are Doing Differently We’ll talk about how AI-supported documentation is being used in real psychiatric practice, including what it can do well, how it fits into clinical workflow, and most importantly, whether it can give clinicians more time and attention back to their patients. For me, the goal isn’t AI for the sake of AI. Technology should support the patient-clinician relationship, not get in the way of it. If you’re a Psychiatrist , Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or practice owner thinking about how AI fits into patient care, join us. Great to see these results from Healthdirect Australia showing their after-hours GP service is running 11% faster consultations since introducing AI scribe technology. Those 236 hours saved is time that can be given back to clinicians to focus on their patients. It's been a privilege partnering with the Healthdirect team. We're excited to keep building on this work together as we help even more clinicians spend less time on the keyboard and more time on delivering care.

11% faster. That's how much quicker consultations are running on our after-hours GP service, since we introduced AI scribe technology. Clinical documentation has always been the hidden cost of a consult. Typing notes while trying to stay present with a consumer takes time, focus, and energy that should go on the consumer. AI scribes now listen, transcribe and draft structured clinical notes in real time. GPs review, correct and finalise instead of typing from scratch. The results so far: ✅ Calls running 11% faster ✅ Close to 300 hours of GP time re-focused on consumers in 8 weeks ✅ Quality improved: more completed safety checks, more complete aftercare plans Less time on the keyboard. More time with the consumer. As clinical workforce shortages continue and demand grows, we are looking at how every small efficiency gain can create meaningful workforce capacity. The first gain is a better call. The second is a service, and a workforce, that can keep answering. #DigitalHealth #VirtualCare #AIinHealth

Last week we shared the big news that Heidi health is integrating into the Innowell platform. Now, I get to share a bit more about why. In our latest episode of the In Our Minds podcast, I sit down with Dr Simon Kos Global CMO at Heidi, to talk about the role of AI and tech in improving clinical outcomes, and how we can think about building things that make the lives of clinicians and patients easier. Simon and Innowell go back a fair way, and this was such a great episode: candid, generous, and full of the kind of insight you only get from someone who's worked in this field for more than 20 years both in the system, and with global tech giants like Microsoft. If you want to hear what this partnership really means, and why we're so excited about it, have a listen. Links in comments below 👇 #mentalhealth #partnership #measurementbasedcare #ai

Last week, I found myself in New York sitting around a table with physicians, engineers, and product leaders discussing which problems healthcare AI should solve next. I was there as a new member of the Customer Advisory Board at Heidi. That still feels slightly strange to write. My background is in behavioral health, not engineering, and most of what I know about healthcare technology comes from trying to make it work inside an actual clinical system—complete with regulatory requirements, imperfect workflows, exhausted clinicians, and patients who do not arrive in neatly structured data fields. That is also why I accepted the invitation. I believe in Heidi. I would not have agreed to do this otherwise. But belief does not require suspending judgment. An advisory board that only applauds is not especially advisory, and part of what has earned my confidence in Heidi is its willingness to invite clinicians into the room before every answer has been settled. I’m interested in whether AI can give clinicians more capacity to think, listen, and remain present without quietly sacrificing quality, clinical judgment, or the therapeutic relationship. In behavioral health, that relationship is often the mechanism through which the intervention works. While I was there, I recorded the attached video about an important distinction in behavioral health documentation: a good clinical note is not a transcript. Clinical judgment includes knowing what belongs in the record and, just as importantly, what does not. Heidi’s ability to let me shape documentation around the needs of my patients and the ethical standards of my profession is what first drew me to the platform nearly two years ago. For full transparency, this is a compensated advisory role, and these views are my own. The guardrails for ethical AI use in healthcare are still being drawn. I’d rather help draw them than critique them after the fact.

The debate about whether the NHS workforce will adopt AI is over. They already have. Our new survey of 1,000 NHS healthcare professionals shows a workforce that found what worked and built it into how they practise. The question now is which AI tools earn enough trust to stay, and what the NHS builds around them next. Swipe through the key findings from Pressure Points: How the NHS workforce is finding relief through AI. Full report: https://lnkd.in/eyMFBWyj

Most of a healthcare worker’s day isn’t spent with patients. It’s spent in tabs and portals, swallowed by admin that follows them home. Heidi changes that. It's a connected clinical platform that anticipates and acts on what's needed to progress patient care, starting with the visit and working beyond. Your AI Care Partner, for healthier healthcare systems. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gmfbg2Xi
