In a recent conversation in The Australian Financial Review, Grace Brown shared the story of a couple in an aged care home who hadn't danced together in over 20 years. Abi helped change that. 💜 This is the "why" behind Abi. 🥹 Link to the article and podcast in the comments 👇

We’re hiring a Head of Hardware in San Francisco / the Bay Area. Andromeda is one of the only social humanoid robotics companies with a live fleet operating in the rooms of real people. Enterprise customers pay for her, renew, and are asking for more. The job now is to build thousands of her. Abi needs to survive years in a room with a 90-year-old. She’ll be bumped, spilled on, touched constantly, and run for 12 hours a day. She can never feel fragile. This is one of the hardest (and most exciting!) hardware problems on the planet right now. I’m looking for someone to lead the whole body: mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, DFM, reliability, validation, supply chain, manufacturing partners, and the production line. Someone who's dragged a complex electromechanical product from prototype to volume and can point at the result and say, “I made that real” - rockets, satellites, drones, surgical robots, consumer hardware at scale. The domain matters less than the scar tissue. Abi has to work in a real room, in front of a real person, on the worst day of their week. We’re building the social intelligence layer for the robotics era: robots with memory, presence, and warmth, starting with some of the loneliest people on Earth. Billions of robots are coming. What they bring out in us will depend on who builds them. If this is the most interesting problem you’ve heard about this year, apply here: https://lnkd.in/d_7X-YrJ Know who should be reading this? Tag them below. I read every comment. $10K referral fee if we hire them: half when they start, half after six months. Natalie Badawy 💻 Carina Parisella

Marianne, a resident at O’Mara House who lives with dementia, enjoys spending time with Abi during sessions shaped around her interests and preferences. During a recent session, Abi used conversation and music to engage Marianne with songs that held special meaning for her and her husband, Mike. As familiar music played, Marianne began singing, laughing and dancing. Mike shared that he hadn’t seen Marianne like this in a long time. When Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley began to play, Mike joined Marianne for a slow dance – the first time they had danced together in almost 30 years. Used alongside the care and companionship provided by our teams, Abi provides another way for residents to engage with the things they enjoy, express themselves and stay connected with the people who matter most. Last week I was in Melbourne, spending time with our Australian customers, team and investors. I had a grueling schedule - I'm still recovering! But it was also immensely rewarding to hear from a customer CEO that Abi is a critical aspect of their senior care operations, witness our manufacturing team's new efficiencies (and happiness) in our expanded space and get to know some of our newest Andromedans. Seeing our CS leaders talking to 4 Abi's at once was pretty fun too - we thought we were doing well talking to 2 at once in the San Francisco office. :) I'm so excited about all that the team is building and the impact we're already having on people's lives. The future of robotics is here! Also, shout out to our talented Chief of Staff, Dominic Taranto - his Abi mural is even more awesome in person. I can see why it's popular w/ our team and all our office visitors. 💜 Andromeda Robotics! Grace Brown Bryan Balin Brian McCarthy Carina Parisella Yan Chen #andromedarobotics #robotics #agetech
