In real life I am a university lecturer in electronic engineering (telecommunications mainly with some digital electronics) in the UK. Outside of work, I have a number of varied interests. I play viola in a local amateur orchestra, and also play violin and piano for my own enjoyment. I am a warranted guider in Girl Guiding UK, although currently I do not work with a unit regularly, but am Queens' Guide Adivsor for the local county & a leadership mentor. I am also a rifle shooter - indoor small-bore target shooting.
When I have any free time I enjoy reading fiction in many different genres: fantasy, science-fantasy, detective, miltary and naval, historical and family. I am involved in two fandoms: Horatio Hornblower (connected to Meridian(Granada)/A&E TV films) and Lord of the Rings - and seem to be joining the fringes of Stargate Atlantis for some odd reason (thank you
derry667&guttermaiden!!!). I have been an HH fan since I read my first CSF book at the age of 9, and a Tolkien fan almost as long.Mood Themes:
