I've had a multi-fandom group chat on Twitter for a while and we recently decided that a Discord server would be nice for better organization (especially for things like pretty pics and recs). So, I've started a Discord server and I thought I'd open it up for others who might want a fannish refuge.
We're an 18+ server (most of us are in our 30s or older), we're respectful of everyone's fandoms, ships, kinks etc. In the two years we have functioned as a Twitter group chat we have been blessedly drama-free and we want to remain as such. We like to share pretty pics and gifs (sometimes nsfw - which has a separate channel), talk about fandom, rec fanworks and music, and chat about general life things.
If it's something that would interest you let me know and I'll give you an invite. :)
Challenge #2
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.
Let's start this post off by revisiting last years goals so I can give myself a little pat on the back for what I achieved!
In your own space, promote a canon/talk about a part of canon that you love.
( Let's flail about canon )
Challenge #4
In your own space, create some goals. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Yes, I intend to catch up with this! Day 2 challenge was to interact with someone new, and I checked out and replied to some intro posts from other participants I haven't spoken to before, so I consider that one done. :)
( Who's coming to dinner? )
One of the things I wanted to try to do this year in order to use Dreamwidth more (and also just as a writing task and being better at reccing things) was to make a monthly DW post with things I watched/read/played/listened to and fanwork recs from the past month. I actually starting writing a post for January over a week ago but I lost two thirds of it because computers are annoying sometimes, and I just didn't have the motivation to redo it until now (linking all the recs takes some time!). Let's hope I have better luck this time!
Two notes: Not all the recs here will be new things, just things I in the given month. Some may not even be new to me - I might end up being excited about old things I dug back up too. I will stay away from major spoilers here - there might end up being some very minor ones.

For those who might want to join this challenge, stage 1 was a friending meme.
Stage 2: A Gamer is You
As much as we like to say we've been playing video games all our lives, each of us had to start somewhere and go from there. Today, in your own space, talk about your history as a gamer. Where did it all begin? When did it all begin? Which games had the biggest impact on you? And so on.

Challenge #14
In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) What makes it particularly appealing for you? What do you like in fanworks featuring that trope?
