Hello! I'm Anne and this is a fandom journal.

I'm a thirtysomething fan, fic writer, meta writer, and occasional podficcer. My interests tend toward science fiction and post-apocalyptic stories, but not exclusively. I am multifandom on the whole but tend to be fixated on one fandom at any given moment. My tag list will give you a sense of what I post about most frequently.

I'm pretty "live and let live" about fandom interests—ship and let ship, YKINMKATO, Don't Like Don't Read, etc. If I say I don't like something, it's not meant to be a judgment on people who do like the thing, and I'm pretty strongly against ship-warring and harassment over fictional preferences. That does not mean, however, that I think broad trends in fandom that reflect broader social issues like racism, sexism, and homophobia shouldn't be discussed.

I write fic, and I enjoy any and all pairing categories as well as genfic. I would call myself a canon enthusiast in the sense that I generally prefer to work within the canon universe, and canon compliance tends to be a goal for me, excepting the instances where I've deliberately chosen to break from it. I do enjoy canon divergence, "what if" fic and gap fillers very much, but with a few exceptions I'm not especially drawn to total AUs.

I also write a lot of meta and enjoy digging into the canon text and analyzing characters and narrative. I have my biases like anyone else, but I do make an effort to make my arguments from the text, and to draw clear distinctions between interpretation of canon, and headcanon. Some of my meta is critical but I do try to avoid being unrelentingly negative about any given canon. I realize that all of this is not everybody's cup of tea, and if it's not an approach you enjoy, you may just want to skip the meta entries.

Most of the content here is public but I do make the occasional locked entry, especially with personal stuff, so I'd like to know you a bit before I grant access. Please don't share any content from locked entries elsewhere.

NSFW is warned on an entry-by-entry basis. I try to provide reasonable content warnings but I cannot promise that I will always cover everything that might be triggering or upsetting.

Linking to public entries is just fine. Quoting is fine as long as you credit and link back, but please don't copy and paste entire entries, even with credit.

Feel free to comment and interact! Feel free to comment without subscribing, or subscribe without commenting. Feel free to comment even if the entry is old. Feel free to get chatty and digress! Discussion is extremely welcome on meta entries as long as it stays good-faith and civil.

Transformative Works Policy

I do give permission for people to use meta or headcanons I've written about for a fic or other fanwork as long as you credit and link back to me for it. (And please let me know so I can see it!)

I do give permission for transformative works such as podfics, translations, illustrations, etc to be made of my fanworks (OCs included) by humans, under the condition that you give credit, link back to my work, and let me know about it so that I can come appreciate your work!

I do not give permission for any of my works to be reposted in their entirety on sites where I have not chosen to post them myself.

I do not give permission for any of my fanworks to be fed into AI, machine learning tools, et cetera, in whole or in part, for any reason, under any circumstances.
